BALLROOM ON THE BEACH! Dream Come True! My then-fiancé and I were getting desperate to find a reasonable yet classy venue near a beach in LA area. It had been months of researching venues online, scheduling walkthroughs, and then coming home disappointed and looking for more leads. Finally one night, I gave my now-husband my ideal venue description (thinking it would never happen anyway): I told him I had always dreamed of getting married with a perfect ocean view as the sun goes down (obviously without random beach-goers in the viewable background or god forbid walking through our wedding with their dogs, volleyballs or frisbees, because most beaches are public and they can do all that freely) AND I wanted a terrace overlooking the ocean AND a ballroom all in the same venue. If this is your dream too, look no further!!! Shutters is simply the best. I know a lot of reviewers say that because they remember their wedding fondly, but we HUNTED for this venue and we knocked down a lot of similar venues along the way. For the price, location, service, and the amazing catering, you will get no better! The catering was exquisite, the service was attentive and friendly (not stuck-up at all). There were no ridiculous hidden charges like so many other venues bill after the wedding. THEY LET ME DECORATE MY OWN WEDDING!! For those who don't know, most upscale venues will make a fuss about hiring vendors for EVERYTHING. Shutters understands that not every couple wants fresh flowers or rented decor. Being the picky bride that I am, I custom-made all my own elaborate and fragile centerpieces and decor and the Shutters staff happily set it all up with a little written direction! AMAZING!!! The cherry on top: They pampered us by leaving chilled Champagne, sweets, and other goodies in the bridal suite when we retreated after the reception. And the night was on them. Bliss! GET MARRIED AT SHUTTERS! And tell Bruce and Kristie Sam and Rachel Schaffel say "hi!"

Working with Alessandra Apoian during the planning process and the team at Casa Del Mar on the day of my son's wedding was a great experience. Alessandra was responsive, professional and an extremely pleasant person. The wrap up and finalizing of details after the event went smoothly as well. I would highly recommend Casa Del Mar as a wedding venue as the location is so beautiful. Thanks Alessandra, Kathleen, the room block team and the entire staff at Casa Del Mar!

We got married here last June 2025, and could not have imagined a better experience. From start to finish, the hotel delivered an incredible wedding weekend that our guests are still talking about. One of the biggest draws for us was the vibe of the property, the hotel has such a stunning costal modern aesthetic that it practically decorates itself. This helped a lot with also not having to spend a ton on other things like flowers and rentals. We wanted a place where all of our events could happen in one location without needing transportation, and the Proper made that possible. We hosted four events on-site: a rooftop welcome party, an outdoor terrace ceremony, a ballroom reception, and a farewell brunch by the pool. Every space felt unique, beautiful, and perfectly suited to the moment. Our guests also felt like each event was at a different venue since they were all held at different spaces in the hotel. The planning process went smoothly overall. While there was a bit of staff turnover that caused occasional delays, the team was accommodating, especially when it came to letting us visit over the holidays while we were traveling from across the country. We worked closely with our amazing wedding planner, Susan Dunne, and the hotel team coordinated seamlessly with her on catering and logistics. A special shout-out to Katrina Ramirez, who went above and beyond all weekend. She made sure we felt taken care of at every turn and helped ensure the entire celebration unfolded effortlessly. The food, drinks, and service were phenomenal. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about the Late Night Taco Station — even though, ironically, we never got to try the tacos ourselves! We also received an overwhelming number of compliments on how gorgeous everything was and how perfect the venue felt. If you’re considering the Santa Monica Proper Hotel for your wedding, we highly recommend it. Having a great planner made the process even smoother, but the venue itself is exceptional. We wouldn’t change a thing and are so grateful for such a memorable, beautifully executed wedding weekend. 5/5 — Truly unforgettable.

The boutique style of the Le Meridien Delfina, and their breathtaking penthouse ocean view of Santa Monica, was the perfect location for our elegant wedding. The garden was also a beautiful and private space for our first look. Upon meeting their hotel event coordinator Monica, her friendly, outgoing, and helpful personality came through very quickly, and we immediately knew this was the perfect location for our wedding reception. We could always depend on Monica to quickly respond to any of our questions, she was very accommodating to our needs and requests. She recommended the short ribs and salmon, and our guests kept commenting on the delicious dinner, the Le Meridien Delfina cook is one talented chef. We are very thankful for Monica and her team for hosting our dream wedding.

Great service, beautiful location and intimate ceremony setting. Perfect for a tropical romantic wedding!

It's such a gorgeous spot for a reception! I own Tayler Ashley Photography and had the pleasure of shooting a wedding here. The staff is wonderful and it is such a classy spot. Not to mention it is super close to the beach for sunset photos!

I am SO incredibly happy to have found the SMBWC on my search for a reception site near St. Monica's Church (where our ceremony was held) Virginia, the coordinator there is so responsive and since it is a big empty ballroom your vision can come alive at this location. I truly had my dream reception at this venue and could not be more happy with the way things turned out. It is also one of the more affordable venues on the westside that also allows you to bring in your own catering and rentals, which can really be a big $$ saver.

My wife and I had our wedding there recently and were completely satisfied with everything. The venue worked with us from beginning to end. The food, space, decorations, merchant referrals, drinks, and whole process was great. For our food we were invited to tastings and were offered all possible options from cheese plates, walking appetizers, desserts, drinks, and so on. We elected for the poke ahi, cheese plates, ricotta stuffed peppers as appetizers and had no complaints. For dinner we had the filet mignon and seabass and although most elected the filet mignon, I was in love with the fish. Everything was clean, professional, pristine, elegant, and timely. Both my wife and I were looking for something classy, intimate, literary, and vintage and this venue met our every need. The aesthetics and options of rooms was worth it. Overall, our only tidbit was timely responses to communication (which weren't bad but could've been improved) they usually got back to us within 3-4 days, but other than that we enjoyed every second :) Thank you to everyone at The Victorian, we will definitely be back whether it is for another occasion or even for the speak easy bar downstairs :)

Mariasol was wonderful. The location is beautiful. So colorful. And you really can't beat the view from up there. You are surrounded by the Pacific Ocean on all sides. And with all that, you wouldn't imagine it would be as affordable as it is. They took care of everything. From the paperwork to rent the Observation Deck from the city, to setting up the chairs for the ceremony. The buffet was incredible. The food was delicious. The service was impeccable. The table set-ups were gorgeous. I really can't say enough good things about this place. Such a unique setting. It was a very memorable day.

I held my wedding at Annenberg's Splash Pad and Garden Terrace Room. The sites were perfect for our 60 guests. The venue coordinator was extremely helpful and friendly throughout the months leading up to the big day, and willing to have a phone call to answer questions and provide feedback. In February, the outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour were chilly, but the setting was beautiful, exactly what we envisioned, and a great value for a space right on the beach!
