About

Our Historic Landmark classical revival building was created to be both impressive and welcoming. The Clubhouse works its magic from the moment you step through its doors, which feature antique stained glass transoms. Graceful twin staircases lead to the upper balcony and dining room, while the original maple floors continue into the spacious main ballroom, which holds 400 people in concert seating.

The lounge to the left of the main doors is perfect for VIPs, a bridal dressing room, or a private sitting room for the start of the show.

I am SO incredibly happy to have found the SMBWC on my search for a reception site near St. Monica's Church (where our ceremony was held) Virginia, the coordinator there is so responsive and since it is a big empty ballroom your vision can come alive at this location. I truly had my dream reception at this venue and could not be more happy with the way things turned out. It is also one of the more affordable venues on the westside that also allows you to bring in your own catering and rentals, which can really be a big $$ saver.

I had my wedding reception at the Santa Monica Bay Woman's Club and the people who run it are a NIGHTMARE.

First they "forgot" about my wedding date (which we had secured with a deposit) and booked another event on the same day. After we got that cleared up and after the wedding, they violated the contract and stole $2,300 from us.

The day of the event, they had us write a $3,000 check that was supposed to cover any potential damages and they assured us they would not deposit it. There were no damages, but they deposited the check immediately (which caused us to overdraw our bank account on our honeymoon), and when we returned we found out they were keeping $2,300 because of bogus charges that were not mentioned at all in the contract.

They are completely disorganized, rude, impossible to get in touch with, and quite frankly way too old, forgetful, and incompetent to be running anything.
