The Castle Green is one of the most enchanting wedding venues in Southern California. Built in 1898, this property was designed with influence of Moorish, Spanish and Victorian elements. With turn-of-the-century glamour and charm, the Castle has a fabulous ground-floor setting for your event, with several unique locations for photos. The Lobby with a grand staircase, Salon, and beautiful smaller rooms for your cocktail reception; the Ballroom for dinner and dancing and also a veranda & lawns for leisure. The building has been virtually unchanged since 1898 and is one of the most cherished historic buildings in Pasadena. Facilities and Capacity

Castle Green offers a choice of both indoor and outdoor event spaces. With only one event a day, you have exclusive use of the entire ground floor and lawn areas for the entire event. The ballroom offers floor-to-ceiling windows and marble archways and can accommodate up to 200 guests for a sit-down meal or 300 for cocktail receptions. Couples who wish to celebrate outdoors can exchange vows in the lush manicured gardens, which accommodate upwards of 300 guests. The venue offers four bars, one of which is outdoors, as well as a grand piano in the stately salon.

They also are able to accommodate cultural weddings, helping couples incorporate their family’s traditions and creating beautiful lasting memories. Their goal is to ensure that your wedding day will run effortlessly and be flawless! Creating a stress-free joyful experience for you.

This venue only has one event a day, there are no food and beverage minimums, and you can provide your own alcohol with no corkage fee.

Cuisine

The Castle Green is a Venue Only and works exclusively with several preferred, full-service catering companies. These caterers will work with you to create a menu that is perfect for your event! In addition to their exquisite cuisine, they also provide a stellar service staff as well as bartenders. The caterers will execute all set-up. provide all rentals (glassware, flatware, chinaware, and linens for your tables). Their services may also include additional rental items, wedding cake, and other décor items. Your caterer will also perform the breakdown after the event and do all post-event clean-up for you.

History

The Castle Green is a Nationally Registered Historic Monument and Officially Designated Pasadena Treasure. Over 120 years old, built in the Victorian era, now faithfully restored in every detail, including architectural details and colors. It has extensive grounds, including a lily pond and arched walkways and verandas, with magnificent trees and expansive lawns.

The interior spaces, all available to use, are furnished with original Victorian antiques and plush velvet drapes which evoke an earlier time, the Golden Age of America. Frederick Roehrig was the architect for this property. It was the 2nd in 3 buildings built for the wealthy who loved vacationing in sunny California in this one-of-a-kind, lavish 19th-century resort. It was actually known as the “Central Annex”. The building itself combines several architectural elements. Truly, this is a unique landmark where sophistication meets history in an eclectic mix of mystery and beauty.
