Father Joe Kammerer was our officiant at St. James Catholic Church. The church itself has some stringent rules about ceremonies. If you like a simple and clean ceremony, this is the place for you. If you want lots of flowers, petals, the runner, etc. find another church. Some of the rules were a bit hard for me to swallow, but I managed and our wedding was truly beautiful without all the pomp and circumstance. Father Joe met with us several times, as many times as we wanted. He was always accomodating to our needs and wants. We were a little concerned after the rehearsal that we had rehearsed things out of order and we would all be confused, but Father Joe guided us through the ceremony and we got hitched without any glitches. It was truly a smooth ceremony, including the extras and unique modifications we made to the ceremony to suit ourselves. I have to note as well that the church encourages every couple to participate in an Engagement Encounter Weekend. We would highly recommend this as well. We were a close couple before, but grew even closer and learned how to communicate even better during that weekend. The couples running the weekend were very helpful and compassionate. Nobody, regardless of religion, should get married without first going to an Engagement Encounter.
