Additional Questions and Answers
What are custom invitations?
Most invitations you find are ordered out of a catalog. Custom invitations are invitations that are custom designed and printed for each customer. All my designs are one-of-a-kind in their own way and designed to fit your vision of what you want your invitations to be. When you select custom invitations your possibilities are nearly endless.

Do you offer one type of invitation or many?
I offer a wide range of invitations from your basic un-layered panel all the way to pocket folds. I can design a unique invitation for any event from weddings to corporate parties. Please see my product list for a full list of the invitation styles I design.

What can I expect to pay for custom invitations?
This is a frequent question. The price per invitation depends on a lot of elements. First off, the price will depend on the type of invitation you require. Your basic un-layered panel will be your cheapest invitation while the pocket fold will be the most elaborate and costly. The next element is the type of paper you like. A matte finish paper will be less costly than a metallic paper. Finally, your price will depend on the number of invitations you need and the number of inserts you desire.

What does the price include?
The price quoted includes, but is not limited to: paper choice, graphics, printing, design, assembly and any special items required to make the invitation of your dreams (ribbon, Swarovski crystals, or any other added elements). If you are unsure if something “special” is or isn’t included, never fear, just email me and I can give you a definitive answer.

What other products do you offer?
If it has to do with paper I can pretty much do it! To be more specific, I have the ability to not only create beautiful invitations for your event, but I can also do: escort cards, seating charts, programs, table numbers, signs, thank you cards, favor tags, unity candles (with or without tapers), menus and more. If you have something specific in mind, let me know and I can tell you what can be done!

I also do envelope printing where I print the guest names and address on the outside envelope along with the return address on the back flap. Printed envelopes look fantastic and tie in with the rest of the invitation.

How many invitations should I order?
Most catalog companies have a set amount of invitations you can order, generally starting at 100. With custom invitations, you can order however many you need. If you need 62 invitations, you can order 62…why get stuck with 20 or more extra invitations, right? My general rule is to order 5 to 10 extra invitations for those inevitable “last minute” add ons.

Do you proof read invitations before submitting proofs?
I will fix things that jump out at me, but as a rule, it is up to the client to proof read all proofs sent. I require the use of special forms where you input your wording and I copy and paste that to my invitation design program. The form I use is a Word form and will generally alert you to misspelled words or grammatical errors, but it is not foolproof. I urge all my clients to proof read and re-proof read (and even employ the eyes of a friend or relative) to ensure that everything is perfect.

I will also point out any etiquette problems I see, but it is up to you to make the changes.

Can I get the same invite I saw on your site?
Because my invitations are all custom designed to suit each individual client, I will not duplicate an invitation. However, I am happy to work with out and design something that is “similar”.

Do you take out-of-state orders?
Absolutely! We will work via email and snail mail and when it comes time for delivery, my only requirement is that the client pays for shipping via USPS at cost. There is no extra fee for packaging.

What type of printing do you offer?
99% of all my printing is done on a high quality laser jet printer. However, I do offer other forms of printing (at additional costs). I am able to do thermography printing and letter press. I also can do embossing of your return address on your envelopes, please inquire about embossing.

What about samples?
Because of the nature of the business I cannot offer samples. I do all my own printing, cutting and assembly and it would be too costly to make numerous samples. However, in the rare case I am willing to work with you and create a sample of the finalized design.

I’ve heard of custom stamps, is this something you can do?
I am more than happy to assist you with your custom stamps. I use vendors such as www.zazzle.com for custom stamp orders.

Speaking of stamps, what is the price of postage for my invitation?
In general, an invitation will fall into the 2oz category and is roughly $0.59 for a 5x7 or 4x9, but increases with square envelopes to $0.79. Please double check with the post office as to the price per invitation as these are only estimations and may be different when you actually go and weigh your invitation.

Tips and Advice
Take a breath and step back! I know that picking out just the right invitation for you big day is very important to you. I had custom invitations for my wedding, and it was so hard...we went through numerous proofs before one just clicked! The best advice I can give you is search for styles you like, and when you find something we can work together to make it yours! Also, be sure to openly communicate. I found with a recent bride that what they thought they wanted was completely different than what the decided on...and the only way we were able to do this was by open communication. Keep and open mind and we’ll create the perfect invitation for you!
