Whether it’s a grand affair or an intimate gathering, you will be delighted with our facility and the outstanding service we offer.  Our facility is a perfect setting for your wedding reception, ceremony, rehearsal dinner or shower.  Let Pine West host your special event and enjoy the memories long after the celebration is over.

We have many unique services available.  Our experience has given us valuable insight in assisting you in planning your reception.  We help you to coordinate all of the various aspects of your wedding reception.  It’s time consuming to seek out a Bridal Consultant, Bakery, DJ service, and a Decorator.  Therefore, we have made available to you with an extremely competent group of individuals to make this task as easy as possible.

Beginning with our bridal consultants, Brenda and Carl have had many years of experience assisting couples to plan the wedding of their dreams.  We’ve been in business since 1957, and have evolved into Kalamazoo’s premier facility.  We are a family owned and operated business, with an excellent and caring staff who attends to all the details of your reception from the beginning planning stages, the execution of ideas, to making sure each of your guests have a wonderful time.  We are involved in every aspect of the event to ensure that your reception is “what you want it to be”.   Every wedding reception held at Pine West is distinctly a unique expression of your style and desires.  Brenda and Carl are here to help you customize your menu, table linens, centerpieces, and every aspect of your reception.

Our in-house baker, Nancy Arndt and Brenda will custom design a wedding cake of your dreams!  We have an exciting wedding cake book to explore, you can bring in your ideas, or we can make suggestions to incorporate details from your dress or other details of your wedding style.  Every wedding cake is a unique expression of our wedding couple.  Design isn’t the only choice when it comes to our cakes!  We love to incorporate your favorite flavors also!  Ask to look at our signature line of cake flavors…

When it comes to music, Joe Swabash our in-house DJ has it covered!  He has a very rich DJ style voice that excites and relaxes you throughout the evening.  With our custom wedding music sheet, to our request slips…everyone dances to music they love.  Joe can help you with your music choices if you are unsure of selections.  He loves to make the group feel comfortable and enjoy themselves.  From your intimate first dance, to line dancin’ with all the girls from work…you are in great hands with Joe!  He can whip a crowd into a frenzy, and quiet them down into a romantic interlude.  Yes, he even makes the hokey-pokey fun!

  We like to say that our facility is so beautiful, that you really don’t have to go to great lengths to decorate.  However, it is a nice way to express your personality by adding details.  We like to personalize each wedding by offering you an array of colored linens, beautiful centerpieces, and decorating options to make your day shine!  we also have a private and beautifully landscaped area outdoors witha  gazebo, arbor and bridge.  It’s a perfect place to hold your wedding ceremony and provides a beautiful back-drop for all of your wedding pictures.

Do you offer a tasting for potential clients?
No, we have been in the catering business for 51 years. Ask your neighbors, friends, co-workers...chances are they have had our food. After all, the best judge is someone who has experienced our food during an actual reception. We choose to keep our prices lower by not providing a tasting. The expense has to come from somewhere. If we provided tastings, we would have to increase our price per person by $5.00 to cover that expense. We would rather keep the costs lower for you.
 
Are you also able to provide the wedding cake?
Yes! We have a fabulous in-house baker. We pride ourselves on our quality and creativeness! Everything is made from scratch, with the best ingredients. Every cake is an expression of our wedding couple!
 
If a bride decides to bring her own wedding cake, do you have a cake cutting fee? If yes, how much is the fee?
We don't allow outside vendors to bring in any food. Our baker can make any cake you desire, just let us know your preference!
 
Are you licensed to sell alcohol? If yes, where are you licensed?
Yes, we have a full liquor license for our facility. We are fully insured.

All alcohol must be furnished through us.

We rent centerpieces, wrought iron aisle stands, chargers, silver plateau cake stand,etc. Just ask us, we might have what your'e dreaming about available to rent!

How does your venue determine the cost of the space?
We charge per person for the food and bar. We also have rental fees for the wedding ceremony and / or reception space. We have a flat rate for our in-house DJ service.
 
Do you offer any special services?
We have tried to gather extremely talented and professional vendors to make the planning process more simple for you. We provide an in-house baker, and DJ. Decorating packages are available, to add those special touches to create the look you want. Brenda is also an Interior Designer and can provide distinctive decorations for your tastes. We also have lists of preferred photographers, florists and even ministers if you are interested. We strive to provide you with the best all around service, so that it makes the days leading up and including your day special- as stress free as we can make it.
 
Do you offer any special packages for rehearsal dinners?
Yes! Ask Brenda about ideas for your rehearsal dinner!
 
Do you offer additional items for the ceremony?
Make an appointment with Brenda, and she can plan for whatever you may want.
 
Do you rent other items such as linens, tables, or flatware?
These items are already included in our wedding packages.
 
What is your staff-to-guest ratio?
Generally we have one staff to every fifteen guests. This will vary on a buffet or served meal.
 
Do you require clients to use a specific list of vendors?
Only our DJ and Baker.
 
Do you require the client to use your musicians? If you do not require this, is that an additional fee to bring in one's own musicians?

We meet all electrical codes for our area. We have plenty!

You really don't have to decorate too much, because we have a beautiful old world atmosphere inside our facility. It is nice to add special touches at the head table, along with centerpieces on each table. Other areas to decorate would be the cake table, punch table, and the front vestibule. We only ask that you do not affix anything to our walls or ceilings. We also do not allow confetti or glitter. All candles must be enclosed and meet fire code. Please discuss any decorating plans with Brenda or Carl prior to your wedding day.
