About
OUR PHILOSOPHY:

This wedding is about you – your dreams, your future. I'm just there to pull it all together, to navigate the 100s of potential photographers, florists and caterers and to make sure you get the best quality for the best price.

I'm here to guide you, to make the day you've imagined a perfect reality.

I planned my first wedding in Chicago four years ago, and remember how gratifying it felt that I was the one the bride and groom could lean on during their special day – when the details can become overwhelming. Since then, I've planned dozens of events, from corporate functions to waterfront weddings and elaborate birthday parties.

I know this sounds simplistic, but I'm a people pleaser. I want you to be happy. It would make me happy to help you plan the day of your dreams.

Very Sincerely,
Lindsay

Tips and Advice
LVL Events on Saving Money, Time and Frustration

With the economy in dire straits I thought it would only be appropriate to give some tips on how to save money when planning your dream wedding.

Before researching any vendors or falling in love with an unaffordable venue, it’s critical to create a realistic budget based on individual financial situations and priorities. There is nothing worse than finding the photographer of one’s dreams only to realize later their prices are outside the budget.

Contrary to popular belief, hiring an event planner can reduce costs. In addition to reducing stress, hiring a wedding coordinator can also save you money based on their relationships and ability to negotiate with vendors. Most often the money I save my clients ends up paying for my services and then some!

Considering alternate days and times such as Fridays, Sundays or afternoon weddings is a great way to get lower rates. Most vendors and venues have lower rates for Friday, Sunday or daytime weddings or for off season weddings (excluding summer months).

Trimming the guest list is one of the best ways to reduce expenses without sacrificing quality. The upside to a smaller wedding is that it can be more intimate, allowing the couple to spend more time with each guest and not feel obligated to invite unwanted guests. If this scenario creates some friction, some couples opt for a second, less extravagant reception for extended family and friends.

Another great way to cut back on costs is to save postage on wedding invitations RSVPs. Forgo the inner envelope and instead of a reply card, ask guests to reply online or by the telephone. Not only will you save money from the printer bill, it should also reduce your postage expense. Some technophiles are opting to go totally electronic, but if traditional paper invitations are important, simply avoiding irregularly shaped invitations also can minimize postage fees. Check with the local post office or web site before ordering invitations.

Finally, the piece de resistance for any bride is the gown. Shopping sample sales and the Internet for bargains is a great alternative to paying full price for a wedding dress. Check out sample sales at a local bridal salon. It's a great opportunity to get a designer dress at rock-bottom prices. Sites like eBay, Craigslist and others have great deals on used wedding dresses. Remember that cleaning the delicate fabric of a wedding gown may cost up to $250, so avoid the cheap dress with the filthy hem.
