Bert's Bakery has great cakes! They always look very nice and their buttercream frosting is excellent. They have delivered hundreds of cakes to our location and have always been here on time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer private tastings or open house tastings? Every bride that has an appointment is offered a sample to taste in store and also a smaple to take home. We also have samples at our Bridal Shows.
What are your tasting hours? Tasting are by appointment only.
Describe how you price, such as by slice or by tier, for your cakes? Price depends on the style of cake. Prices start at $2.00 per serving.
Does the price include the top-tier of the cake? Yes, the top tier is yours to keep for your first anniversary and is not included in your count.
Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles? We offer custom designs as well as our traditional designs.
What (if any) special ingredients, such as fresh fruits or farm-fresh butter, do you use in your cakes? Our cakes are made from scratch with real eggs and whole milk. Also are frostings are made with real butter and milk.
What (if any) dietary restrictions, such as kosher, can you accommodate? We can accomodate kosher, wheat-free and sugar free. We will attempt to accomodate any dietary needs.
On average, how far in advance of the wedding day do you prepare the cake? We start all wedding cakes the week of the wedding.
On average, how many wedding cakes do you do for a weekend? We average 2-12 weddings a weekend.
Will you work with the bride's florist to garnish the cake? Yes, We prefer the florist place the flowers on the cake but we will accomodate any requests including the arrangement of flowers.
What (if any) cake accessories, such as a cake stand or cake cutter, do you rent out? We have a deposit on all cake sets. We will charge extra if we are asked to purchase a special stand for the wedding cakes.
Do you offer delivery? If yes, how much is your average delivery fee? Our prices include set-up and delivery in the Kalamazoo area. We offer delivery any where in the United States for a fee.
