10 Polka Dot Wedding Dresses for the Playful Yet Classic Bride

We love a good patterned wedding dress — and whether it's pretty florals, elegant lace, or bold and modern geometrics, there's a pattern for nearly every kind of bride. At New York Bridal Fashion Week, we spotted the polka dot wedding dress trend popping up everywhere in fall 2019 collections, giving us an entirely new pattern to fawn over! Designers were all about the dots this season, from Swiss dot wedding dresses with vintage vibes, to gowns adorned with luxe velvet circles. The polka dot wedding dress trend is a fabulous option for brides who want a classic-yet-whimsical ensemble on the big day. Until now, fabrics like flocked tulle and point d'esprit (a.k.a. Swiss dot) were most often used for veils, and we're thrilled to see these pretty fabrics finally stepping into the wedding dress limelight.

Dress: Hayley Paige

Hayley Paige used cascading layers of Swiss dot tulle to create this flirty ball gown. The Swiss dots carry over onto the bodice and are paired with beaded floral straps for a little extra sparkle.

Allover dots get a boho twist when paired with embroidered lace and a flower crown. This Willowby by Watters dress also has a nude underlining and godets for even more free-spirited flair.

Steven Birnbaum’s take on the polka dot wedding dress trend came in the form of velvet circles adorning a sleek sheath gown. The cowl neckline has a structured bodice to provide plenty of support and coverage. We picture this stunner at an elegant winter wedding.

This two-piece ensemble by Halfpenny London is a gorgeous choice for the bride who loves the idea of customizable separates. Adorn a classic ivory slip with a sheer flocked tulle dress for a look that’s totally whimsical. Then, slip off the tulle and rock the slip on its own when it’s time to let loose!

Sareh Nouri used dots as an accent detail on this sweetheart A-line gown. We love how the dots seem to fall down the tulle and gather at the bottom alongside the embroidered floral pattern.

One of our favorite polka dot wedding dresses of the season was by Pnina Tornai. The dots on this gorgeous ball gown stand out against the rest of the skirt’s layers of tulle and lace, while a birdcage veil and netted headpiece completed the look.
