5 Reasons to Get Married...at a Vineyard

Vineyards are particularly dreamy and romantic outdoor wedding venues, and have lots of desirable amenities.

In recent years, vineyard wedding venues have become increasingly popular. They’re particularly dreamy and romantic, and have lots of desirable amenities, ample outdoor space, and plenty of gorgeous backdrops for your wedding photos.

Here are some reasons why we adore vineyard wedding venues.

A vineyard wedding is also a (nearby) destination wedding.

If a destination wedding sounds like your style, but you want a locale that doesn’t require your guests to get out their passport, a vineyard wedding is a great option to consider. For west coast couples, Napa Valley, Sonoma County and other vineyard-rich areas are wedding-friendly, while the East Coast boasts a bountiful array of wineries in the Mid-Atlantic. With a winery setting, your guests will have plenty to do (and drink) during your wedding weekend.

There are lots of great options for hotel room blocks.

Whether you’re getting married in wine country on the west or east coast, your guests will have plenty of vacation-worthy hotel options. Many wineries have their own on-site accommodations (great if you want to take over the entire winery for the weekend), or bed and breakfasts and other cozy hotels abound near wineries.

The bar will be top notch.

No standard Chardonnay here. Marrying at a vineyard means your guests will be treated to an impressive (and local) wine list for dinner and any other wedding weekend events. Have fun with your chosen venue and include tasting notes on your menu cards. You could even arrange a wine tasting for your guests as part of the wedding activities.

Your wedding photos will be pretty dreamy.

A vineyard offers a stunning backdrop for some pretty great wedding photos. Staring off into the vineyard’s verdant hills. Strolling through the vines. Holding hands in front of the oak barrels. A natural setting for wedding photos usually makes for some great snaps, but using a vineyard as a backdrop adds an extra air of outdoor elegance to the photo shoot.

It offers indoor and outdoor space.

The beauty of a vineyard lends itself to an outdoor wedding and reception. But with a vineyard you can also play it safe with some indoor options. The tasting room, on-site restaurant and perhaps even a dedicated wedding event space ensures you and your guests will have a great day—rain or shine.
