“When I put my dress on the day of the wedding, there was a navy blue heart attached to the inside of my dress. My mother then told me that my cousin asked the dress designer to attach this heart-shaped piece of my grandfather’s tie to the inside of my dress. My grandfather passed away last November, and I was very close with him. It was difficult planning our wedding knowing that he would not be there to watch me get married or to meet my husband. It was such a sweet, special moment that really made me feel like he was with me that day!” – Ally, married in Charleston, South Carolina

"The time alone I had with my Dad before he walked me down the aisle was so special. He's winning the battle with cancer, and it meant the world to me to have him there! We had such a nice chat reminising about all the other guys I dated. They were all great, but none of them compared to Steve! My Dad had stood by my side through it all. He was the one I went to for all my dating advice and heartbreaks. He told me that one day I would meet the right one. In that moment before we walked down the aisle, I realized he was right all along." —Suzie, married in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

“The moment right before I walked down the aisle, my dad whispered, ‘You’ve made the right choice. Many marriages fail because they didn’t make the right choice. You did, kiddo.’ And that’s when this poised go-get-’em bride lost it.” – Kelly, married in Granada Hills, California

"My dad passed away when I was 16 years old. It is tough not having your dad to walk you down the aisle or have a father-daughter dance on your wedding day. We wanted to make sure we honored him and could feel his presence on our big day. It was lightly sprinkling on and off during the day of the wedding, and it was an overcast sky. During the ceremony, right as I asked to repeat my vows, there was a giant roll of thunder (the only one we heard all day) and I knew it was my dad sending us a little love from above. After the ceremony ended, we had kissed and were pronounced man and wife! We walked out from the tent and the sky had completely cleared and there was an incredible full rainbow reaching across the sky. It was incredible." —Hayley, married in Phoenix, Arizona

"I did a surprise breakout dance with my dad. We didn't want to cry so we slow danced to 'My Little Girl' by Jack Johnson and (oops!) someone changed the track to 'Canned Heat' from the movie Napoleon Dynamite." —Allie, married in Benton, Arkansas

"Just before the father-daughter dance, I surprised my dad with a home video of us dancing together in our living room in 1989. I pre-recorded a message to my dad that played over the speakers at the start of the video thanking him for all that he has taught me and inviting him to dance with me one more time. My dad was very surprised and I heard later that many guests were in tears just like we were as we danced along to the video. It was such a special memory that I was able to share with my dad." —Kirsten, married in Chandler, Arizona
