When did you start buying 'things'?!

So our wedding is in October and I am anxious to starting buying ‘things’! How far out did you buy your bridal party/parents gifts, your guest book, reception items (toasting flutes/cake cutting set) and all your other wedding days ‘things’? I’m not sure why I am hesitating, but something is keeping...

I’m not sure why I am hesitating, but something is keeping me from hitting the checkout button!

Also getting married in october started buying stuff last october. I had stuff saved then would get an email about it being on sale or would get a coupon so then I would purchase it.

I have cake topper , favor basket , cake cutter set , something for my guest book, mr & mrs sign , some candles, welcome sign/mirror, camera for guest book, heels.

I am getting married in October as well and I haven't bought much or should i say I haven't bought anything LOL I am in no rush. I think I am focusing on the bigger things, like getting the cater book (which we did last week), the photographer, music, decor, cake, etc. Cake Toppers , champagne flutes , and the small miscellaneous are not something i had in mind yet. Maybe i can skip on a few things of these small things.

We started once we settled on the style of wedding we wanted and chose our colors. We knew we wanted a romantic, soft, vintage feel and our colors were rose gold, gold and white with touches of ivory. Here is what we got on our first shopping day.

So far I’ve bought a ring box, vow books, and prints for tables. We’re about 8 months out.

I planned my wedding within 2 months of getting engaged. So once my theme/color was chosen, I started buying things right away like my guest book, gifts for my girls, etc.

Hey girl! Randomly saw this today and thought I’d put my 2 cents in. I’m noticing there is not much else to do but those types of things, because our vendors are all booked and all of the big things are taken care of that there isn’t anything really to do until like end of March-April. And then after that it just gets crazier and crazier. So I’ve started collecting things as I go and adding it to my budget list to make sure I’m staying on track! I use Facebook marketplace and I find such good deals from past weddings. My advice is figure out what you want for decorating & if you see something you like, just get it!

Start buying now. Our wedding is next year and we've knocked a lot of stuff out already. We're spending smaller amounts over time so its much easier on our pockets, and it has helped out a ton with our budget. When you wait too long and trying to get things shipped last minute it becomes more expensive.

I would buy as things are on sale for what you like. I found cheaper to buy a lot of the things than to try rent or things. I bought the table cloths and napkins for less than rental cost and I am not sure after if will save some or do Tate to church also the chair covers I found good prices for. But I would wait for things on sale and as budget allows pick up. This way not last minute and having to find funds for

I thought it was so kool. My Maid of honor came up with it. I have had a guest book before and I never looked at it. So this will be so special.

I’m also getting married in October. We were just engaged on Christmas Day. Once we set our date, I knew my theme, and I started working on things. Dress is bought, venue is booked, vendors are booked, and I’ve started picking up little things. I have bought everything we need for our centerpieces, I found the lantern for my parent’s memorial table, bags and flip flops for my bridesmaids, made our guestbook, I ordered our signs for our guest book, gift table, and cake table, and I am working with the vendor that made those to make my invites and our welcome pack for the wedding party and out of town guests. Facebook marketplace has been a huge help. I’ve also made a private wedding wish list on Amazon (only I can see it) and I have been favoriting things on Esty. I will pick up one or two of those items each paycheck. It is helping me keep on budget, and it is spreading out the expenses instead of making it one big purchase.

Buy It when you see it. I have had trouble deciding which I liked and I’ve changed my mind about a 100 times. If I did buy I try and make sure I can take it back if I change my mind. I just bought valentines stuff from dollar tree so I do look and look more for a bargain.

I started buying right after we set the date - makes it a lot less stressful for me that way since I have a full time job, a part time job and grandkids to spend time with.......little bit at a time, as I'm finding it on sale or with a coupon.......I'm actually almost done - only need to find my table linens now and we are good to go!! Congrats and good luck!!

I started buying things as soon as we had an ideal venue for our reception. I've primarily gotten stuff off of Facebook Marketplace and related websites which helped us save some money. It really helped to buy the smaller things in increments at the beginning of our engagement so we will be able to save for our large payments for vendors!

I would recommend getting things you like now just in case you aren't able to find them later.
