What's you're take on the garter toss??

Shay, on August 28, 2016 at 6:15 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 94

I frankly don't want my hubbie under my gown in front of our family and friends fetching for my garter with his mouth. Like Whoa! !

If he's absolutely wanting that to happen, make it more subtle and leave your garter at your knee, and ask him to pull it with his hand instead of teeth maybe?? I gotta come up with something myself cause my fiancee wants a garter toss as well!

I'm in the same boat. Especially since we will have a lot of kids there. But it seems to be one of those traditions that people just expect to see. If I do it, I'm going to have it pretty low on my leg so it's quick and easy.

Personally, I think it's gross and dated. What's the point?

We're just not doing one. I think the whole thing is kind of gross and tacky. Thankfully, FH agreed. I'll still buy something lacy for him to pull off however he likes. But it will be later, not in front of all our friends and family.

We didn't have a garter toss, I felt the same way, it was something we did in private.

We're not doing it. FH thought it was gross and inappropriate to do in front of my daughter and family.

Not doing it: it kind of grosses me out. If FH's had wanted to do a garter toss, he would have used his hand to either pull it off my ankle or to pull it out of his own pocket.

I don't think it's that weird. People expect it and it's tradition. But.... I'm a very traditional person haha. All depends on what you think! We are doing one but to each their own!

I think it's gross. We're skipping it. I haven't seen it at the last two weddings I went to.

Gotta tell you, as an overseas bride who hadn't heard of the garter toss thing before WW, it looks pretty creepy and unnecessary. You don't have to do it, from what I understand.

We're not doing it or the bouquet toss. This weirds me out. Plus, we have very few truly single guests, so I'm not sure who the garter would be tossed to.

    We're definitely NOT doing it.

When I was 14 I caught the bouquet at a wedding. My did was LIVID. And then one of my uncle's friends caught the garter - and had to put it on me. It was the most awkward, uncomfortable moment of my life. I refuse to put anyone through that!

I'm not into the whole idea and DH didn't care about it either. We skipped the bouquet toss as well, just gave the bouquet to the longest married couple. I did purchase a garter that was green with the NY Jets logo on it, but that was just for DH's eyes after the reception lol.

The shin is cute cause u can sexy it up by propping your foot on his bent knee and he kneels in front of you and nothing above your knee need ever be exposed!
