What's stressing you out?

Kellie, on April 2, 2019 at 4:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 116

What's going on with planning your wedding that is currently stressing you out? My wedding is on May 4, 2019 and I just found out yesterday that the venue we were going to have our ceremony and reception at is canceling on us. The venue was free and had adequate seating, they weren't requiring a refundable security deposit or anything like that so there was no agreement in writing. They are claiming that I "misunderstood them" and that they never okayed the date. There is no way I would have sent out Save the Dates if it wasn't crystal clear that the date was secured.

Because the venue was free I didn't budget for renting tables & chairs or paying for a venue. I have a meeting with a venue tomorrow and hopefully I can secure it and let everyone know of the change. I need some major pampering and drinks, but now I'm extra poor lol.

Good Luck! We were supposed to do ours at Jack Russell Farm Brewery in Apple Hill. They're the ones who backed out and said that I misunderstood them

Oh no! That sounds horrible! I'm so sorry!

What's stressing me currently is the cost of flowers. My mom tells me not to worry about it but this wedding is getting out of hand financially!

I was so stunned when I started looking at flowers. I could not believe how quick it added up and in some cases the fake flowers were even more expensive! Luckily my ceremony is "rustic chic" (new term I've coined lol) so I am using Sola Wood flowers. I've been dying them myself (acrylic paint diluted with water), painting some with rose gold acrylic paint, and then adding rose gold glitter to others. They've turned out really pretty for a fraction of the cost.

The hotel we wanted for our hotel got all booked up before we got our block set up. My FH's family invited too many people so now we may not have the space for everyone. Planning from a totally different state while working rotating shifts and my FH being gone. I am finding myself getting stressed about stupid things and big things. Just ready to be married at this point.

I am so sorry about your situation! I can't even imagine.

OH goodness, that is absolutely stressing. I keep telling my husband (we already did the legal stuff this ceremony is for family and to celebrate) that I just want the day to be here already so I can just enjoy myself and stop stressing!

Yikes that sounds horrible. I'm sorry you are going through this but hopefully the meeting goes well tomorrow. I recommend making them sign a contract if at all possible.

Currently I am stressing out over invitations.

-I thought they didn't need to go out till the 12th (8 weeks ahead) but now everyone is saying I am late sending them!

-I thought they were all ready to go but I had to fix a bunch

-The post office is saying it is just barely (like really you would not believe how small) too wide to mail with normal postage so they will have to Hand Cancel. That would just cost .15 extra but they are .01 oz. too heavy as well so it will be $1 per invitation!

-Plus I am having to leave work early to get to the dang post office before they close

-Oh and of course the normal stress of sending invites because there is no backing out and eloping now lol

I'm so sorry you have to deal with that! I hope you find a place you like even better!

For me it's getting my fiancee to let me put a deposit down on a venue. He refuses until he has the entire amount. I respect that but he doesn't understand that venues are booked fast.

Invitations are super stressful too. I went to the post office to make sure my RSVPs were going to be okay to get mailed back (I did them on business card size) and they told me it was okay. Every one that actually makes it to me has had a note on it that I owe an additional 15 cents for being too small. Most of them didn't get back to me so I've been having to message every person on my list. I can't count how my times I've looked at my husband and said "this is stupid, we've already made it legal can we just cancel?" lol

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this! I can’t imagine how stressed you must be.
My current stress is that when I picked my dress up on Friday it doesn’t fit me 🙃 its like an inch shy of zipping to the top. Also the bridal store I bought it from was supposed to order it with the slit in it closed but that didn’t happen. Little things, but annoying things lol. I’ve already been working out quite a bit so upping my workouts and getting my eating in check should help a lot!

OMG that is horrible. I hope this new venue comes through for you.

My current stress is not taking the time to properly test out make-up, and hair styles prior to. 12 days away and I don't have a lot of time to put into it with everything else that's needed to do.

RECOMMEND to any woman who believe they aren't girly girls and won't need to worry about this...you may decide to the closer you get to date. Do yourself a favor and do the proper tests prior to date instead of two weeks out like me, ha!

OMG are you serious?!?! these are mine.freaking same size as a business cards! UGH I should have just done a stinking e-vite. I don't understand why the postal service is so complicated?! Don't they realize they are dying out and need to be more not less convenient than the online messaging they are competing against!!

I'm definitely not a girly girl but I was stressed with hair and makeup when I did out engagement pics (had a minor meltdown the day before). I decided to get professional help for my curly mop and makeup lol. I really hope you're able to figure out the hair and makeup for your big day. I'm sure you will look stunning!

Hey we share the same wedding date! I’m stressed bc I’m having a destination wedding and want give my guests and bridesmaids really nice gifts for traveling to Mexico but don’t know how I’m gonna either bring all the stuff with me or have time to find it there, plus unsure if I should pay for my girls to get my hair and makeup done?

I hope you're able to figure something out for the gift. If you can afford to take care of hair & make up I'm sure they would be super appreciative, that is incredibly generous!
