What's going on with planning your wedding that is currently stressing you out? My wedding is on May 4, 2019 and I just found out yesterday that the venue we were going to have our ceremony and reception at is canceling on us. The venue was free and had adequate seating, they weren't requiring a refundable security deposit or anything like that so there was no agreement in writing. They are claiming that I "misunderstood them" and that they never okayed the date. There is no way I would have sent out Save the Dates if it wasn't crystal clear that the date was secured.

Because the venue was free I didn't budget for renting tables & chairs or paying for a venue. I have a meeting with a venue tomorrow and hopefully I can secure it and let everyone know of the change. I need some major pampering and drinks, but now I'm extra poor lol.

I felt the same way about the dress. I found one online and it turned out to be absolutely perfect!! Check out https://www.kiyonna.com/Plus-Size-Wedding-Shop.html and maybe you'll get lucky. Their sizing was true to size for me.

Applying for jobs, having interviews, and possibly moving next month. Not much planning has been going on lately. I get so stressed about interviews and presentations.

FMIL has been stressing me and FH out. She called on Monday to tell my FH that she is upset she had to pay his car insurance. (They have been voluntarily paying it for years.) She says none of us have enough money and we should just cancel the wedding. My parents are willing to pay for all of it if necessary. They just want me to be happy. FMIL is really upsetting us with her negativity. We are already stressed about money since I lost my job and she is just making things worse. UGH.

That’s terrible! How completely unprofessional of them! I hope everything works out with the new venue!

For myself, my FH and I got engaged 2 weeks ago, and we are getting married September 7 this year! I’m really stressing out about finding a dress and accessories in time within my budget. I’m going to a few sample sales this weekend, so I am really hoping I find something.

I went through stillwhite.com I got a brand new with tags Maggie Sotillo dress for $275. They have new, pre-worn, and sample dresses at all different price points. I couldn't see spending a lot of money on something I'm wearing once. Good luck!

My wedding has really become my coping mechanism to deal with the rest of the stress in my life.

I'm stressed because I'm suddenly unmotivated. Or I'm unmotivated because I'm stressed. Not sure which. Today is 100 days until my ceremony and 114 to my first reception and 128 to my second reception. (We're having the parties where our families are. In 2 different states. We're crazy) And I haven't sent the STDs for the 2 parties. Everytime I look at them, I get overwhelmed and just want to start day-drinking. Everything is getting done slowly, but getting done. Also, I can't find a photographer that we can afford that does work I like. I'm ready to elope and forget the rest.

Everything has been stressing me out, really. We actually just decided to nix a traditional wedding, so now we're planning to elope. I thought it would be less stressful, but we still want our immediate families there, and it's just really difficult because even my immediate family is too big for an elopement. So now we're trying to decide whether we want to still invite everyone in our immediate families, just our parents, or go in alone.

I hope your situation gets worked out! I feel like no one REALLY talks about how stressful planning a wedding is. Almost sucks the fun out of getting married sometimes. But it will be so worth it in the end.

My current stressor is the photographer. The venue where we are having our reception gave us the name of a photographer. The photographer has been sporadic with contact (sometimes doesn't even get back to us) and was 30 minutes late to our first meeting. It took months for him to get us sample wedding photos and he doesn't even have good excuses for not being in contact. The person that runs the reception venue has been great and communicates with the photographer, but that never leads into the photographer contacting us. Today I wrote a nice email to the reception venue thanking him for all of his help with the photographer, but letting him know that we won't be using the photographer for our wedding. I know the reception venue will be fine with it because we actually talked to him about it last week.

My main question is, how to I find a great photographer in this area and what are some questions that I should ask? I have asked some friends, but it doesn't seem like any have had great photographer experiences. As a side note we are looking for photographers, a videographer (that will put together a video of important parts), and a photobooth.

Ive been engaged since December and my venue has just changed for the third time. Similar in that the first two venues were free and I just needed to rent tables and chairs but now I am having to dish out $3600 I didn't plan for.

Oh dear! I'm so sorry! That is awful. My stress is nothing compared to yours.
I'll be praying a new venue falls into place and is affordable.
    Please keep us posted.
    Hang in there!

Thanks its been a whirlwind for sure. Hopefully we will have it nailed down after this weekend. FH was in an car accident a few days ago and totaled the car so we are hoping the insurance will cover most of the costs for that so we can focus the wedding budget money on that.

Oh, really? I'm about an hour and a half away from Sacramento. What's the venue called?

Oh wow! Sorry to hear about the venue that's very unprofessional! I'd definitely make sure you write a review on them!

My current stressor is how much everything is seeming to cost. But I'm pretty wedding ignorant too so it's not terribly surprising.. just stressful! Finalizing caterer and dj now, and go cake tasting on Monday. I could use an extra 5k to drop on my lap right about now, lol
