What Are You Walking Down the Aisle To?

Landon & Dakota, on May 5, 2016 at 11:16 AM Posted in Planning 0 69

My debate is lyrics or no lyrics. What have y'all picked? Or have it narrowed down to? I mean would it be weird to have the moms seated and bridesmaids/groomsmen walk down to no lyrics and I walk down to a song with lyrics?

We are doing all instrumental for the processional. The guys are walking out to the theme song from Top Gun, the BP is walking down to Take my breath away - Berlin, and I am walking down to an instrumental version of Beautiful in White.

There's no rules, at least assuming you're not getting married in a religious venue that may have rules about music.

We chose an instrumental version of a Depeche Mode song, arranged by Vitamin String Quartet. It was long enough for the entire bridal party to walk to, so we just had one song.

I will tell you though, as someone who's married - please don't spend too much time worrying about this ... you will not even notice the music when you see your FH and start walking, and my FH didn't even notice the music (which I chose as a surprise for him). Just pick something you like, and go with it!

We have a classical guitarist playing for our ceremony and I'll be walking down to his arrangement of "River Flows in You" by Yiurma. But to answer your other question, not it wouldn't be weird!

We're using Dawn from Pride and Prejudice for the processional.

I think we might be using "I choose you" by Andy Grammer(Sp?) for my entrance, not sure about everyone else.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow. But the version from 50 first dates. Played and sung live by members of our wedding party. Why I am paying for a MUA, I have no idea. Because I will be a blubbering mess before I even get to the end of the damn aisle.

Our grandmothers and the groom's parent entered to "Ave Maria" (with lyrics). the bridal party to Pachelbel's "Canon in D" and my parents and I to Handel's "Music for the Royal Fireworks." We had 2 trumpeters, 2 soloists, and a keyboardist/pianist.

Our parents and bridal party are walking in to "The Rose" by Conway Twitty and I am walking into "Can't Take My Eyes off You" by Lady Antebellum. I did not want the traditional wedding march, and I'm not a big fan of instrumentals.

@Dreamer, I'm doing the same. Bridal party to Ave Maria and I'm walking it to Canon in D. I wanted really traditional music and Canon in D makes me cry everytime.

We're using "Beautiful in White" by Westlife; everyone, including me, will be walking down to the same song. I love the idea of having lyrics, but that's just me. Smiley smile

I was going to walk down the aisle to Sara Bareilles "I Choose You" then I remembered I'm getting married in a Catholic Church so Sacred music only Smiley sad I just think "I Choose You" would be the prettiest song ever to walk down the aisle to! I specifically wanted to walk down during the bridge and be approaching the altar during the last line where she says "I get to be the other half of you"

Oh well, a girl can dream!

Canon in D. FH loves it and sometimes we play it just for fun. ( and sometimes I cry because I'm so excited)

I'm thinking of doing the Vitamin String Quartet instrumental version of Queen's Somebody to Love. I don't think it would be weird if your song had lyrics though.
