What Are You Walking Down the Aisle To?

My debate is lyrics or no lyrics. What have y'all picked? Or have it narrowed down to? I mean would it be weird to have the moms seated and bridesmaids/groomsmen walk down to no lyrics and I walk down to a song with lyrics?

Mom and I walked down the aisle to Circle Game by Joni Mitchell. It was one of the first songs I learned to play from my moms little blue book of music.

Idk. I wanted to do lyrics but it won't probably be the length of the song and those could be weird to just stop abruptly.

Marry me for the bridal party. Bagpipes for me and my dad. He'll be in his full formal kilt.

I went with classical music for all my songs - I like the traditional stuff Smiley smile We had a string trio provide the music live. Since we had a large bridal party so we used 2 songs for the processional: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (Bach) for seating of the groom's grandparents and parents (they're divorced, so they walked separately) and for the officiant, groom and GM... then Canon in D (Pachelbel) for the BM, FG and RB. I walked in to the Bridal Chorus (Wagner).

    We're doing two processional songs:

For FH and bridal party, it'll be Perpetuum Mobile by Penguin Cafe Orchestra

And I'll be walking down to The Seaside from Emma (BBC) soundtrack.

Definitely a bit off the beaten path and it took me awhile to settle on those, but I'm totally in love Smiley smile

I'm planning on an instrumental version of groovy kind of love by Phil Collins (yeah I know, super cheesy. But I don't care). At his sister's wedding they played it at the cocktail hour and it sprang into my head. I later find out it was the processional music in one of the weddings on the show Friends, so maybe that's why. But I heard that song better place by Rachel Patten, I was debating on that instead, it reminds me so much of us and it's really pretty. For that I'd probably have the original with lyrics.

I'm walking in to "Book of Love" by Peter Gabriel. I have a super long walk in the vineyard, so I'm timing it and having my DJ cut a version that's the exact length of my walk (for those of you worried about cutting lyrics off).

The parents and bridal party are walking down to "Over the Rainbow" by Iz (The Wizard of Oz is my FMIL's favorite so it's a little surprise for her) and my uncle is recording an acoustic instrumental version of "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid for me to walk down to (my little Disney nod...I'm a huge Disney lover but am trying to put something really subtle into the wedding). We're getting married on the beach Smiley smile

Our ceremony music will be performed by a family friend, so it's all instrumental. The guys, our mothers (led by FH), and my girls are walking down to the traditional Canon in D. My dad and I are walking down to the soft version of Jurassic Park (the piano version but with a violin)

Our violinist arranged a version of our favorite Billy Holiday song, Stars Fell on Alabama! I wasn't sure it would work with just the violin, but he played it for us and I started crying!

I definitely wanted something without any lyrics. Check out The Piano Guys or Vitamin String Quartet…their music is beautiful! Personally, I prefer The Piano Guys but Vitamin String Quartet seems to have a wider range available. Good luck! Smiley smile
