Wedding Invitation Tips

Future Mrs. B, on January 3, 2020 at 5:59 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
Hi ladies,

I’m getting ready to order my wedding invitations and was wondering what tips and tricks everyone has. I would like to know the correct etiquette regarding no children. Also, in an effort to avoid unwanted guests, I was thinking to provide the number of seats each guests has instead of letting them choose if they can bring a guest or not.
What else should I include?

For a child free wedding, you would simply avoid inviting children. If you feel like it's necessary to blatantly state "no kids allowed," I would do so on your wedding website. We numbered our RSVP cards with invisible marker in case people forgot to fill in their names and it came in handy 3 or 4 times. Speaking of names, instead of the "M____" line at the top of the RSVP card, we put "Name(s)" because we knew that 80% of our guests would have no idea what M___ stood for.

I had a “we reserved ___ seats in your honor” line.

We did do the M______. Most people figured it out, my mom wrote “M_om & Dad” which I guess was close enough.

I'm actually having my guests RSVP on my wedding website (the knot)! Guests have to type in their name and cannot add anyone to their slot (So the website will display that Jane and John Smith are invited, and they can only RSVP or decline for themselves. They aren't able to add or write in their daughter Susie.)
