Hello all!

I’m not sure if this is the proper group for this discussion. However, I wanted to know if you ladies and/or gents wear your engagement rings all the time.

Recently, I was made to feel bad, perhaps unintentionally but perhaps not, about not wearing my engagement ring 24/7. My FHs family and I were talking about planning and my rings and such. When a member of his family said that an engagement ring should be worn at ALL times and never taken off, with quite the attitude. As if she judging me for taking it off. Mind you, I take it off right when I get home, and put it right back on when I go out anywhere. I don’t want to get it dirty, damaged, or lose its shine while I am doing my everyday tasks at home.

So tell me, what do you do? Do you wear it at all times, without taking it off? Or do you take it off for certain tasks?

So I don’t like to take it off because I love it lol but I do actually take it off quite a bit like for doing laundry (sucker came off in a large pile of socks once and I did not find it until the next day 😬) and getting ready I take it off bc I don’t want makeup or lotions/oils/hairspray on it. But my rule is that I ALWAYS put it down in the same ring tray next to my bed no matter what. It’s either in that tray or on my finger!

Being that I work in the video industry and carry around cameras and boxes, I take my ring off so I don't muck it up. I found this really cool wristband ( RingHero ) that I can put my ring in to keep it with me!
I also take it off when I'm doing dishes, yard work, washing cars, swimming, the shower.... Basically anytime I'm afraid of damaging/losing it. I also don't sleep with it on.
Don't worry about what other people think! You do you! It's your ring!

I wear my all the time 24/7 unless I am working with food or almond harvest/yard work.

You shouldn't feel bad. I do the same thing, I put it in my ring dish as soon as I get home. And I take it off for the gym.

For the most part I wear mine all the time. I do take it off when I’m doing dishes and similar chores around the house. My fiancé knows and agrees with me doing that.

As a police officer I would not want to damage my ring at work or even hurt someone else by a scratch if I’m trying to get them into cuffs. I wear the silicone rings during my work rotations and as soon as I come off my tours, I put my formal engagement ring back on!

I have to take my ring off for work, since I work with behaviorally challenged children. I don't want them to break it, get it dirty, or get hurt by it. Also I'm still not used to my ring getting wet to I definitely take it off to shower. I'm pretty sure it's whatever you're comfortable with, I mean it is your ring...

I take it off when I’m cooking, cleaning, showering, in the pool, putting on lotion or sleeping. I try to keep my ring clean and beautiful and I worry about bacteria and harsh chemicals on it.

I take mine off when I get home because I’m usually cleaning, cooking, showering or in bed. You really shouldn’t wear your ring for any of those activities IMO.
My diamond became loose after 2 months of wearing it religiously...so I’ve learned my lesson and I’m careful now. It’s an expensive piece of jewelry and I treat it as such. Maybe if my ring wasn’t as expensive, I wouldn’t be as careful 🤷🏻‍♀️.
I agree though, it’s not her business wether or not you choose to wear/take off.

I take mines off every evening as soon a I get in from work. I don't want to damage it while working around the house. I also don't like sleeping with rings on and three I honestly just don't feel the need to wear it once I am home it's really as simple as that for me. My FH is perfectly fine with it just as long as I have on when I walk back out the door.

I take my engagement ring off when I’m going to bed, showering, cleaning, and cooking. Otherwise, I have it on.

It’s your ring so you are allowed to take it off whenever you want. I was very overprotective of my ring at first so I totally get it. I take mine off when I shower, go swimming and/or to the beach, wash the dishes and when I know my hands are going to get dirty. I also sometimes take it off when I cook depending on what I’m making and again if I know it’s gonna get messy. You do what’s best for you and your ring. Don’t worry about what other people say.

I usually take my off for the gym, when I shower and at night before bed. And when I’m cleaning. I don’t want anything to happen to it.

I love wearing mine whenever I can 😍😍😍but I do take it off for a few reasons, such as, cleaning, swimming, yard work, paitning, working out, and cooking
Other than that this beauty stays on my finger
I do sleep with mine on so I can close my eyes to it and wake up to it lol💙💍💎

I take it off in the shower and when doing my hair or else it will pull all of my hair out. I also take it off when I'm mixing meat for meatloaf or lumpia and when I'm kneading dough for bread or biscuits. I take it off anywhere it might get wet and slip off without me knowing, like at the beach, pool, amusement/water park, etc.

I never take mine off cause if i do I WILL LOSE IT. except when i do weightlifting but I have a little shelf in my home gym for it
