Wearing a ring 24/7?

Hello all! I’m not sure if this is the proper group for this discussion. However, I wanted to know if you ladies and/or gents wear your engagement rings all the time. Recently, I was made to feel bad, perhaps unintentionally but perhaps not, about not wearing my engagement ring 24/7. My FHs family...
Hello all!

I’m not sure if this is the proper group for this discussion. However, I wanted to know if you ladies and/or gents wear your engagement rings all the time.

Recently, I was made to feel bad, perhaps unintentionally but perhaps not, about not wearing my engagement ring 24/7. My FHs family and I were talking about planning and my rings and such. When a member of his family said that an engagement ring should be worn at ALL times and never taken off, with quite the attitude. As if she judging me for taking it off. Mind you, I take it off right when I get home, and put it right back on when I go out anywhere. I don’t want to get it dirty, damaged, or lose its shine while I am doing my everyday tasks at home.

So tell me, what do you do? Do you wear it at all times, without taking it off? Or do you take it off for certain tasks?

    I’m so in love with my ring, of course I wear it 24/7. Sometimes I may take it off while sleeping but for the most part it’s on my finger all the time!

    I wear my ring pretty much all the time except when I shower or go swimming so I don't lose it or have it fall down the drain lol ignore other people's judgment

    Put it to them this way, as I wear mine most of the time... however when I go to train at my house jitsu class my training partner wouldn’t find it very nice to accidently be gouged by my lovely ring. 😉. On another note, I do a lot of home improvement. While working around the house, I tend to put my engagement ring in the little “coffin” as I call it (the jewel box it came in), to keep it safe. I paint a lot , scrub things, etc.
    I guess what I’m trying to say is, if explained the right way, hopefully your fiancés family/friends would understand why you don’t have it on your hand 24/7. Honesty though, the one that really matters is how you and your fiancé feel. ❤️ Hope I was able to help a bit!!

    I work in a hospital and I don't wear my ring to work anymore. I do wear it when I go places, but if am home cleaning and cooking I don't wear mine either. Don't feel bad, it's your ring!

    I do not wear my engagement ring all of the time! Like you, if I'm at home on a weekend or another lazy day, I don't wear ANY jewelry. All of the jewelry I usually wear comes from my fiancee, but I'm pretty sure he knows I'm taken. When I work at the pool, I don't wear it, but when I'm in the classroom or studio, I do. Something I learned while my sister was wedding planning, that I've taken to heart since is not to let ANYONE dictate your relationship or how you handle anything. That includes rings. We've made the decision for me to continue wearing my engagement ring instead of a wedding band. WE made it. Because it's OUR lives. Bump what anyone else tells you and do you boo boo.

    Only times that I take my ring off is when I go to the gym, wash dishes, shower. Other than that my ring is always on my finger.

    I wear my ring all the time. The only time I take it off is when I’m showering or when I’m at home.

    As long as your partner is ok with it, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. People will talk especially around weddings so do you.

    I wear my ring all day if I am out and about or working but as soon as I am home I put it away back in its box. If I am home and I am not going anywhere I usually do not have it on...I also take it off to do certain things.

    I wear mine most of the time, but i do take it off for certain things. I am a nurse so I try not to wear it to work. I did take it off to wash a bunch of dogs the other day and stuck in my pocket. It ended up falling out and I about had a heart attack! I found it almost immediately. I haven't taken it off since! Be Careful! Especially if you are as forgetful as me!

    I wear mine most of the day. I take it off when showering or washing dishes and I never sleep with it on. I did that once, and almost couldn’t get it off because my finger swelled so much..,.,

    I wear mine all the time, with the exception of the shower. Whether im around the house or out and about, i love to look down and be reminded of the feelings i had when he popped the question!

    I work in the medical field so I'm constantly washing my hands and putting on and taking off my gloves so I definitely don't wear my ring to work and my fiancé wants it that way too. I also sometimes get home and don't even put it on. I do try to wear it everywhere else. I also don't shower with it or sleep with it.

    I take mine off for certain activites such as gym,swimming, showering,kayaking or working! I dont want to take a chance of anything damaging it or losing it! I always have it on when im just laying around the house and going out and about!

    I wear mine all the time, but there are situations where you shouldn’t such as working out, painting, messy projects, or working with tools that may damage your metal. If you are welding your ring to your wedding band then there will be at least a week where you can’t wear it at all. If you wanted to, you get a silicone ring for when your real ring might be at risk but still want to wear a temporary substitute ring of sorts.
