Hello all!

I’m not sure if this is the proper group for this discussion. However, I wanted to know if you ladies and/or gents wear your engagement rings all the time.

Recently, I was made to feel bad, perhaps unintentionally but perhaps not, about not wearing my engagement ring 24/7. My FHs family and I were talking about planning and my rings and such. When a member of his family said that an engagement ring should be worn at ALL times and never taken off, with quite the attitude. As if she judging me for taking it off. Mind you, I take it off right when I get home, and put it right back on when I go out anywhere. I don’t want to get it dirty, damaged, or lose its shine while I am doing my everyday tasks at home.

So tell me, what do you do? Do you wear it at all times, without taking it off? Or do you take it off for certain tasks?

The only time mine comes off is when i am mixing stuff that i need my hands. Otherwise i wear mine all the time

I am so glad you asked this question because I have been curious as well as what some brides or brides-to-be do!

Since getting engaged two months ago, I take it off when I sleep, shower, swim, or do yard work! I just don’t like the feeling of knowing I could lose it, or get it dinged or dirty! Lol. When I’m sleeping my fingers swell sometimes, so I take it off and slip it on as soon as I wake up

Hello everyone!
I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist. I'm not able to even wear rings. I do wear it when I'm off of work though. I wouldn't let anyone make you feel bad for taking your ring off. 🙂

I wear mine majority of the time. However, I do take it off when I’m putting lotion on everyday.. At first, I took it off when I washed my hands, got a shower, slept, & everything because I was so scared I was going to loose it. But I soon started not taking it off & now I almost never do, just because I don’t think about it. I am in nursing school though, so I have silicone rings I wear for clinical days. There’s definitely no right or wrong way to go about it, whatever your preference is!!!

I also think you're being smart with your ring. You're actually doing the "right" thing with your ring. (I've heard & read articles about it.) You're supposed to take it off when you shower, wash your hands, exercise, put lotion on & other home tasks that we all have to take care of on a daily basis. So, with that being said, you do what's best for you & makes you happy! 😄

Wear mine all the time, unless mowing the lawn or heavy, dirty yard work. I do clean it regularly!!!

I wear mine all most of the time. I take it off when I put lotion on or washing dishes. I’m so scared of losing it or something that I keep it on. I don’t think it is bad to take it off while at home.

I always keep my ring on Unless I am at work, then I wear a rubber band! If I forgot to take it off for work, I clean it as soon as I get home.

I wear it all the time because it’s the love we shared will never take it off but the only time I it off is when I’m at the jewelry store getting it shine off for and then it gets right on my finger

I keep mine on all day even when I'm doing house work. Only take it off at night to sleep because my hands swell up for whatever reason

I pretty much wear mine all the time. There are a few exceptions though; taking a tub, swimming, gardening, washing dishes, & brushing my dog. It's common scene to take it off some of the time so it doesn't get nasty. Perhaps the person who scolded you was having a bad day? Don't let it get you down. Haters will hate & you will raise above all that!

I take mine off when cooking and when I'm traveling. Something about knowing I"m touching raw chicken or whatever with my ring on makes me uncomfortable.

I take mine off when I am at work (because of the work I do). I also take it off if I am showering or washing dishes and also when I go to bed at night.

I wear my ring all day everyday. I dont ever take it off because I feel like when I do I end up forgetting it when I go out. And i absolutely hate going out without my ring, I feel like it's a symbol of my commitment and being without it just feels awkward.

As I do not of yet have my official ring, I don't wear it. But when I get it I'm sure I will wear it during the day as I cannot wear jewelry at night.

I take mine off when i get home from work and i dont put it back on until i leave my house. My mom does the same thing. Im not a big jewelry person either. Its your ring, you should be able to do whatever you feel comfortable with.
