Hello all!

I’m not sure if this is the proper group for this discussion. However, I wanted to know if you ladies and/or gents wear your engagement rings all the time.

Recently, I was made to feel bad, perhaps unintentionally but perhaps not, about not wearing my engagement ring 24/7. My FHs family and I were talking about planning and my rings and such. When a member of his family said that an engagement ring should be worn at ALL times and never taken off, with quite the attitude. As if she judging me for taking it off. Mind you, I take it off right when I get home, and put it right back on when I go out anywhere. I don’t want to get it dirty, damaged, or lose its shine while I am doing my everyday tasks at home.

So tell me, what do you do? Do you wear it at all times, without taking it off? Or do you take it off for certain tasks?

I wear my ring only when I go out. If I’m home I keep the ring off. There’s has been a day I forgot to wear the ring but it was no biggy. But I’m not a big jewelry person to wear my ring all day

I don't wear mine all the time. I'm not allowed to wear jewelry at work since I work in a cheese factory and I don't wear it if I'm cleaning or doing the dishes.

On my opinion is to be worn when you like. The rest for me is just old traditions. Good for whoever want to follow them but again you should be free to choose when to wear your engagement ring. Personally I do wear it sometimes and not others. Depending on my mood.

Hi!

I’m a chef. I work in a corporate kitchen and luckily I have a mom-fri kind of job.
I cannot wear rings because is part of regulations unless is a wedding band but I’m not married yet.

i wear my engagement ring whenever I can on the weekends but just because it means so much to me.

you know now how you feel about your fiancée and a ring as pretty as it is, is a material thing. If in your heart you know that you are committed to that special someone, then you should feel pretty great about it.

i love my ring because when I see it it reminds me of when and how he proposed and that he wanted a to commit to a lifetime of me and him.
I love him so much and even when I don’t wear my ring I look at my hand I and I know somehow my ring is there. ♥️♥️♥️

I’m a trauma nurse so I definitely take my ring off for work. I wear the rubber rings for that. I always have something on tho. Rubber or my actual engagement ring.

My ring is off more often than not! I work in the operating room and can’t wear it when I’m working and I also don’t wear it when I’m cooking, showering, sleeping, working out and what not. My fiancé understands my lifestyle and appreciates that I care about it not getting damaged!

I usually wear mine all the time except when I do anything that Involves water so when I take a shower wash my hands go swimming or even do the dishes. I have this jewelry cleaner that I bought from Walmart that helps with keeping it clean and shiny like new

I wear mine as a necklace. Bought a plain silver chain since a) I am forgetful and b) I have a newborn. I love my daughter but baby’s are gross. Between poopy diapers and spit up I wouldn’t wear my ring at all for fear of getting something on it. Plus I’m not really a ring person. I only wear rings once in a blue moon so the necklace is perfect for me.

I take mine off when I get home so I don't have to worry about it. I do put mine back on before I leave the house. Unless I am going swimming, camping or hiking then I will leave it at home.
Everyone is different and everyone should do what is best for them. And don't let anyone make you feel bad for doing what you think is right for you.

I never take it off! I told my fiancé to get me a size smaller by like a few inches (or whatever the size chart for ring sizes go) then I wear so it’s tight but not too tight and that way it will not come off! I love it way too much! Plus, I’m superstitious and have been told if you take your ring off before the wedding, it’s bad luck on your marriage! So! Mines nice and tight but comfortable, it ain’t going nowhere!

Our jeweler actually told me not to wear it 24/7! I take it off when I run, shower, do yard work, and when I go to bed. I wear an enso ring when I'm active. Honestly, it's your preference. You said yes, that's the important thing 🙂

I think it's a personal thing. Especially if you wear it when going out, then you're making the point that you're taken.
For me, I wear it 24/7 - That's just how I am though. I take it off to shower, do yoga, and get my nails done - and that's it. Those are the times when I feel like it'd get dirty/damaged too. But other than that I keep it on always, even when I sleep.

I wear mine most of the time but do take it off at night so sometimes I just forget to put it on on the morning
