Hello all!

I’m not sure if this is the proper group for this discussion. However, I wanted to know if you ladies and/or gents wear your engagement rings all the time.

Recently, I was made to feel bad, perhaps unintentionally but perhaps not, about not wearing my engagement ring 24/7. My FHs family and I were talking about planning and my rings and such. When a member of his family said that an engagement ring should be worn at ALL times and never taken off, with quite the attitude. As if she judging me for taking it off. Mind you, I take it off right when I get home, and put it right back on when I go out anywhere. I don’t want to get it dirty, damaged, or lose its shine while I am doing my everyday tasks at home.

So tell me, what do you do? Do you wear it at all times, without taking it off? Or do you take it off for certain tasks?

I definitely take mine off! To shower, to sleep, to garden, to go to my horse farm. I guess anything that's going to make it super dirty makes me take the ring off. I take it off to sleep too because I'm a sleep puncher and dont want to punch any of the dogs!

I take mine off all the time .I'm a nurse and I go from house to house doing my job and I would hate to lose it or have something happen to it I would be very upset. So I take mine off and when I'm not working I do wear it all the time. Good luck

I take mine off when I’m cleaning doing my hair something that requires me to use my hands too much lol

I only take mine off to wash dishes or prepare certain meals. Other than that I wear it all the time. I don’t want to leave the house and forget to put it on

I keep my engagement ring and band on 24/7. I used to take my engagement ring off for the same reasons but kept leaving it at home or forgetting to put it back on. I figured that i have a good ring, i have cleaner and it’s built sturdy. Taking it off is just too risky, for me anyways. My husband takes his off to shower and lotion and always forgets to put it on but he’s just not used to it yet so i’ll give him the time that i had to get used to it. but keeping it on always works for me.

I put mine on right before I leave the house. It comes off when I clean, do dishes, clean up after my dogs, etc. If I happen to put it back on, which I usually do, I take it off before I shower before bed. If I take camping trips I will leave it locked up in a safe at home. I also plan to buy a cheap set for my honeymoon and leave the real things at home so they are safe.

I only take mine off when I shower,swim,or doing something with my hands that will get my ring dirty. Other than that, I always wear mine. When I forget to put it back on, I feel naked without it.

I take mine off every night !! Once we are married I will no longer wear it to work because I work in a hospital and im constantly checking after taking my gloves off to make sure its still on my finger. A couple of people i work with have lost it so now im super paranoid

I take it off when I sleep, clean, or if I'm cooking something messy. I don't shower it with it on. If I'm doing anything at home that requires me to take it off, unless I plan on leaving to go somewhere, I usually won't put it back on until the next morning when I'm getting ready for the day. Basically, I rarely wear it at home. Unless we have guests.

I wear mine all the time. The only time I don’t is when I shower because I’m afraid it’ll end up in the drain or something lol. A lot of my family and friends have told me that it should be worn all the time. Everyone has their own opinion though. Do what’s best for you.

I take mine off to dont feel bad. Some men dont understand why we do that. But my Fiance had call his mother and ask is it okay to take your ring off, and clearly she agree she use to do it to. The first time he proposed I lost my ring. But I can understand where he coming from about keep taking it off. But he did tell me if he ever see my ring laying around he was going to get it and I will never get it back.

I usually take it off a little after I get home as well since I start doing chores around the house. I’ll put it back on once I head out of the house again.

When my ring was bought the set was a big ring and a small flat band, which is usually worn after getting married. However, my FH bought a wrap for my ring to set in for when we get married. I wear a flat band at all times but wear my big ring when i can. I wear gloves 5 days a week so i usually wear my big ring 2/3 days a week.

It’s really up to you and how your spouse feel about it but I take my off when cooking or home so my finger can get air I started getting this ashy peeling ring around my finger from wearing all the time probably washing my hands and stuff with it on

I take mine off to shower, cook, wash dishes, go to bed, workout. I do have a silicone one that I wear when I workout during the day then go on errands! I definitely don’t leave the house without having it (or my silicone one) on my finger!

I take mine off as soon as I get home, and put in on every time I leave home. I don’t like wearing any jewelry at home. I have forgotten to put it on maybe about four times since I got it in April, my FH is okay with it. I also don’t wear it to the gym because it gets in the way when lifting weights.

I usually only wear it in public or at home if I know I’m not using my hands for any activities. I bought several cute ring holders (different styles for bedroom, kitchen, and bathrooms) so I know where I put it. I leave it at home when I work out as well. We are planning on getting the silicone rings after the wedding due to our active lifestyles (and my more dangerous career).
