UPDATE: ATM at Wedding? Thoughts?

Courtney, on March 22, 2016 at 2:02 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 115

I've got a problem. Let me explain in great length, ask for opinions and not consider anyone's advice!

I'd like for my guests to pay for their drinks because I'm from a place where I'm trying to convince myself that it's okay. My problem is, no one I know carries cash! Anyone know where I can rent a great ATM? I'd like to have one set up near my self-catered buffet so guests will feel absolutely obligated to throw cash at me but I don't know where to start!

Also, would it be weird for my grandma to write me a sizable check during the dollar dance? Is that considered tacky? Can she just stick it in my FH's pocket or should I have someone hold it for me?

UPDATE:

A cutesy poem will really set this sucker off!

You're at our wedding!

What do do?

Your pockets are empty

and your wallet too!

Don't you fret!

Don't feel grim!

Just use this handy ATM.

**$3.75 charge

AMEN.

Personally, I've told my guests they need to each bring their own meals. Self catering is just too much of a hassle. We're charging a $25 cover fee upon entry to the reception so we don't have to do a dollar dance, and the bartenders tip jar is being used as a honeymoon fund.

Please also have your venue 5 miles from parking and DON'T provide transportation, and also, HONEYFUND.

Diz, I was about to post that I wouldn't be surprised to see that as the next trend, dressed up real purty like a photo booth with a whopping service fee that goes to the b & g Smiley smile

Fabulous idea! Make sure you tell them to take out extra for the "cake smash" jars

This is great! Definitely have an ATM at the wedding. You know ATMs only dispense bills in increments of $20, so this is a perfect way to make money off of your guests.

    I can't believe I didn't think of this... hahahahhahahha

I suffered from the heart attacks, too!

The ATM should go by the gift table that displays the honeyfund jar. Obviously.

Also, at your sweetheart table, keep your honey jar in plain sight.

All of your guests want to put money in there just to talk to you!

LOL this just made my day! You shouldn't cater though, just tell them they have to bring their own meals.
