I'd like for my guests to pay for their drinks because I'm from a place where I'm trying to convince myself that it's okay. My problem is, no one I know carries cash! Anyone know where I can rent a great ATM? I'd like to have one set up near my self-catered buffet so guests will feel absolutely obligated to throw cash at me but I don't know where to start!

Also, would it be weird for my grandma to write me a sizable check during the dollar dance? Is that considered tacky? Can she just stick it in my FH's pocket or should I have someone hold it for me?

UPDATE:

A cutesy poem will really set this sucker off!

You're at our wedding!

What do do?

Your pockets are empty

and your wallet too!

Don't you fret!

Don't feel grim!

Just use this handy ATM.

**$3.75 charge

AMEN.

Was the Ceremony in their backyard, then they went to a local bar with guest? And if they wanted food the bar has food they can pay for?

Lol, forget the meat, just make it cheese only. Save more money. Guest needs aren't important. It's my day, I'll do whatever I want!

Oh don't forget the charges for the texted RSVPs or the follow up phone calls. My phone bill needs to be paid so I'll charge you $5 a text and if I have to call you $10.

Think it was at the VFW hall. But, I have no doubt it was a cash bar.

Put it next to the photobooth, so they can then pay for them or they don't get a copy!!

Actually the ATM should have a function if you want to just transfer money directly to the honeyfund or to the bill for the venue.

Count me in! I think I'm gonna do "cash for cake". Where everyone has to pay for what cake they consume... Don't you ladies think that is a fantastic idea??

Oh... I got an idea! Include a special envelope for guests to put a stamp on with your save the dates that way you gauge interest AND you don't have to pay for the postage and then you know how many invites to buy, no returned envelope means you don't have to buy them an envelope!!!!

@Eleanor Rigby should teach a college course on economics because that's the best financial advice I've received all year. Someone call Dave Ramsey and tell him he's fired!!

You just saved me dozens of cents.

I'm thinking to charge an entry fee or sell tickets instead of invites. My FH and I are both in theater, so our wedding will be quite a show and this thing ain't gonna pay for itself! (jk)

@Courtney, just cents? I mean... Those invites and subsequent postage is expensive... AND making them pay for their own postage will surely weed out the people who say yes but don't come saving me LOADS AND LOADS of money. And if they plan on not coming maybe they'll use the envelope to send me money!!!

Hahaha omg when I read the title, I had a heart attack because I thought you were serious. Then I read the first paragraph and had my doubts, but wasn't positive. Then I realize and felt stupid...I should have known! I died laughing at work though...obviously they know who's not pulling their weight today

For those guests that were not invited, be sure to send a letter explaining why, along with a self addressed cash gift card and envelope (they pay the postage, of course), with a minimum $50 required. Makes them feel included on your oh so special day! Smiley smile)

    @Elphaba "pleased as punch" lmao!

Also, you can have a pay per view channel on the Internet for those who couldn't make it!!! Charge a $50 fee so they can watch. I mean, duh! Think of how much Kate and Will could've made if they had thought of this!!!!
