The farewell send off... what are you doing?

Meagan, on March 7, 2013 at 3:43 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 26

I have my heart set on doing the wedding sparklers send off but they can get super expensive if you get the 20" or bigger ones. Has anyone come across any really great deals on these or have any other great ideas they are using for their send off for a evening send off?

We are doing sparklers! I bought mine here: http://www.sayanythingceramics.com/product/SPARKLERS_20_inch_wedding.html

Don't forget to use the free shipping code if you do.

My mom is generously laboring over some ribbon wands for the ceremony. They're pretty simple; just a dowel with several shades of navy blue/turquoise ribbon to match my colors. We'll put one on each chair with the programs for folks to wave as we head back up the aisle. I'm hoping it'll look fab in pictures.

I'm toying with the idea of sparklers for our reception exit, but it's way down at the bottom of my list. Plus, since we're heading to our local beach bar for an after party, it's still not much of a send-off. We're hoping a bunch of our guests join us to continue the party!

Doing sparklers as well. Its only appropriate since its a few days after the 4th. Probably could even save some money buying them on the 5th Smiley smile

I don't really have a specific vision for our send off, so I let my mom decide. She likes bubbles and really, it was the most cost effective for us. So bubbles it is.

We did ribbon wands & party horns for our church exit. Our photog didn't stick around long enough to do a reception exit, so we had people throw rose petals when we entered the reception.

Sparklers, & since we're getting married a few weeks before the Fourth of July they shouldn't be much

I want sparklers so bad, but there is no outside lol. We are in a loft of another building, and when you leave the room for the loft, you leave into that building and then it opens to hte parkinglot. I am also trying to think of something that we can do, having the guests line up on the dance floor which leads to the stairwell.

To be honest I've never been to a reception send off. Usually people around here do it after the ceremony. I was thinking of using noise makers after the ceremony. I was thinking of doing the Chinese lantern thing or maybe at the end of the night doing sparklers.

Sad face. My venue doesn't allow sparklers. I'm not a fan of the ribbon wands or bubbles. Balloon send offs are sometimes outlawed and dangerous to animals. I have no idea what to do. I also cannot use confetti or rose petals....

Sparklers are great and can really add a great touch to photography.

However, make sure you clear it with your venue first. I know of several venues who do not allow sparklers (or anything else that can catch on fire)
