Small or Big Wedding, which do you prefer?

Mrs. Happy, on January 14, 2015 at 6:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 51

I am having a small yet intimate wedding, with our closest family and friends. A guest list of 50-60. I prefer small that way I am able to have everything I want without breaking the bank. Plus I only want people I actually deal with there. The rest can see pictures. My bridal party

will consist of my sister for MOH, my FH brother for BM and my daughter and two nieces as flower girls. Out transportation will also be a horse-drawn carriage. So like I said you can have "everything you want."

I think I am on the small side of the middle - 93 on our guest list.

I wanted to do small. About the same size as yours, just our family and very very close friends. FH shot it down and said he wanted more of our friends to be able to attend. He won.

I love the small yet intimate idea. Unfortunately my family is huge so we're having about 150ppl including the wedding party :-/. My FH always jokes & says his side will be the smallest consisting of 50ppl

Small, we are expecting about 70 guests, only inviting 80 ( this is small for our families).

Mine is small; we invited 68, and a few already aren't coming (travel/money/other plans etc) which is actually ok, because then I can make the menu even better (cocktail/canapé upgrades/extra dessert etc) - as we have a minimum spend.

Hi date twin!! I'm having the wedding I'd imagine. About 150 people! We are and have worked hard to stay within budget.

I would have loved to do a small wedding. Unfortunately, I have a very large family with whom I am very close. I think there are only 1 or 2 distant relatives invited that I've never met. Considering that 50/150 of the invited guests are my relatives a couple not close relatives is pretty impressive.

So after family and then friends it added up quickly.

I am really happy with the 150ish guest list we have. I think a very small wedding would be boring. Then again, I've never been to a really small wedding!

Well mine is small mainly because it is a noon wedding and luncheon reception after with open bar and dj, then we have to leave for our honeymoon. So our reception is over at 4:00 so I ddidn't want to many ppl thinking they were partying all night long when they weren't. Plus the day isnt done we have a golf outing for guests so we wanted to have some fun not stand around a hall all day but enjoy our day with the guests.

Our guest list is at 300 with a horse drawn carriage Smiley winking it's all about priorities. Big wedding for me, I love the party/big celebration atmosphere personally.

I have a huge family too, Thank God out of town and my dream would be just the two of us. Im not much of a center of attention type of person. So I know I'm going to have alot of upset ppl. But at least I have an excuse. I didn't want to bother you all with travel for an early wedding lol. I love It...

Haha that is a good excuse. And honestly I don't think people will be that offended, people understand how expensive weddings are and you'll have a lifetime to celebrate being married with everyone.

We have a small guest list. So small. I am with you. I only want guest that we are close with it and not people we see once a yr or at all. I can't wait to start my planning next yr.

Our guest list is 110, but we'll probably have 75 show up. I'd rather 20 people at this point, though. We've spent a lot of money and I wish we would've done a super small ceremony and a nice dinner with family!

@SoontoBeMrs.Velez that sounds awesome, I can't pretend I like ppl I dont and ppl that are not close to me probable wouldn't care much. Just come to eat and socialize with others. I had to stop my in-law and mom from inviting everyone and I won. It's my day
