I am having a small yet intimate wedding, with our closest family and friends. A guest list of 50-60. I prefer small that way I am able to have everything I want without breaking the bank. will consist of my sister for MOH, my FH brother for BM and my daughter and two nieces as flower girls. Out transportation will also be a horse-drawn carriage. So like I said you can have "everything you want."

Seems like alot of additional planning, bigger venues, more food, more ppl to reach out to. Whew... but the perks is pulling it off I guess. I didn't want to be planning all year. We got engaged in August and these last few months have been draining just getting everything right for a small crowd. But we're about done.

We were really wanting something in between - enough people to feel like we are really important for a day, but not too many that we won't be able to notice/talk to everyone .. We invited 200 and are hoping for 125-150

Small we are only having no more 30 guest. Which only consist of immediate family and very close friends. I have always been against huge circus weddings where I don't know or deal with half of the guest. FH and I can't can't wrap our heads around spending thousands of dollars for one day . We would rather use money for items that we will use everyday and really need. I hope I didn't offend anyone this is just my personal opinion.

I agree weddings are overrated, and ppl take advantage of you like invitations $300 really for paper but the price we must all pay for our special day .

Small, mine is the same size as yours which is about 50 guests. Honestly, I just didn't want to spend money to feed people I only see once every few years. So, our guest list includes immediate family and closest friends. Basically, only those we interact with on a regular basis.

Big was just the right size for me. We had a 225 person wedding and we invited a LOT more and I am so very glad we did. To me the event is all about friends, family being part of your commitment to one another. I often compare ours to a big family reunion and I am perfectly happy with that. We might have watched the budget in a lot of spots but we still had some splurges!

A wedding is not a reunion. I don't really understand people who say they come from large families - you can still do small. We did.

DH's family is huge, but we didn't want to commit in front of those who we were obligated to invite (distant relatives/people we use to know). Also, in his culture everyone is family we would have had a 400+ wedding!

We split the guest list in half and invited immediate family with our closest friends. Large weddings are impersonal to me and we wanted a more elegant wedding versus a party vibe/family reunion. .
