We’re very excited to announce that the Rockstar program is back! Rockstars are leaders of our Community who work hard to welcome new members, start interesting discussions, and answer member questions. They also have special powers to help them keep the Community organized, for example moving discussions to the correct group, quickly removing spam, and locking discussions if needed. Rest assured, Rockstars don’t have access to any member’s private information. Rockstars feature a blue and white star on their profile picture so you know who they are.

Of course, we have to thank everyone who took the time to complete our Rockstar survey in 2017 and gave us feedback to help shape the program today. We’re very excited to share this news with you and answer any questions.

It's just a silly term for a broken or dead link.

But how will we be sure a rockstar won't immediately lock the post and stiffle any further conversation because someone is calling another rude? Why can't the comment be removed (as usual) and the thread continue?

Are Rockstars going to be held to any type of activity minimum requirement? I know it seems like a dumb thing to ask but I know, I personally don't know a handful of them. Will they need to be active at least one time per day? What happens if they ghost after they wed?

When there is a page load error a little drawing that says "Oh cake balls!" comes up. I'm glad you have not seen one, but it comes up when something doesn't load correctly Smiley smile

And we want you to be free to share honest advice and opinions

Honestly Jo, I stopped commenting cause every single thing violates CG's.

I posted a meme saying "hai" to a long time member that I like who just popped in on a thread and it was taken down. Seriously?

    This was the meme

Who>? I havent seen any vendors.

On the introduction page there is a user name calling and a new rock star applauded it. Have they reviewed the CGs?

Rockstars don't have the training, background, or abilities moderators have, so we won't give them the ability to remove the comment of another member. Ideally they would not lock a thread for one person calling one other person rude, they would just flag that comment like any other user would. If a Rockstar was regularly overusing this locking power we'd give them some more training. Locking should only be used for serious situations and will be monitored very closely

Yeah someone said that other users were bitter and welcomed the rockstars and the Rockstar thanked them but did not address the name calling.

Is that no longer against CGs?

There isn't an official activity threshold, but yes we will be making sure they stay active in the community. If someone stops participating in the forums we will remove them from the Rockstar group. Not as a punishment, but because we want them to be active and engaged in the Community! We understand that sometimes people are more active at certain times during their planning, and that there are life changes that might affect your daily WeddingWire time. Smiley tongue

That's not a dumb thing to ask at all! Yes, it'll vary from week to week but they will have activities to complete each week and we'll be monitoring who completes them. That's part of why their date range is a bit flexible now, some people may lose interest or get busy and need to leave the group early, rather than getting to the end of a set term length and only have two or three Rockstars still working!

That is adorable and not at all a vio of the Guidelines. I'm totally perplexed. Do you remember roughly when you posted it? I want to stay here for a while longer and answer more questions but once the questions posted here slow down a bit I want to look into that and see if a mistake was made and how it happened.

Guys, I dont know why you're fighting this. If the Rockstar program takes off maybe WW will decide its a hit and save valuable financial resources by getting rid of the mods and finally letting the forums be self moderated.

    Yes Jo,

This was the thread. I replied to Staci after her comment

    https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/just-found-out-im-pregnant/05c46e06447b2468.html

This is what we mean with pple going gungho with power trips.

But I just ignore it rather than get worked up about it

Meme got taken down? Meh ok then

Memes are allowed, I had not heard that rumor and don't know when or why it got started. If the meme itself doesn't otherwise break the CGs (violent or overly sexual, swearing, used to insult someone etc) then memes are totally allowed!
