Our WeddingWire Rockstars

We’re very excited to announce that the Rockstar program is back! Rockstars are leaders of our Community who work hard to welcome new members, start interesting discussions, and answer member questions. They also have special powers to help them keep the Community organized, for example moving discussions to the correct group, quickly removing spam, and locking discussions if needed. Rest assured, Rockstars don’t have access to any member’s private information. Rockstars feature a blue and white star on their profile picture so you know who they are.

Of course, we have to thank everyone who took the time to complete our Rockstar survey in 2017 and gave us feedback to help shape the program today. We’re very excited to share this news with you and answer any questions.

You should read the comments on this thread as Jo/Lynnie said that Rockstars are not supposed to be all about positivity. They are supposed to give sound advice, sometimes that involves telling people things they don't want to hear.

I think saying I don't have bias, also implies that I'm not human. We all have experiences and preferences that affect our decisions. I have no hatred or disliking towards any user.

But as a rockstar you have to be neutral - its the whole point. You can't effectively assist moderating the boards if you are going to single out certain users negatively and others positively.

Why do they keep locking rock star posts? That’s so weird. Do they actually have special powers? I was a rockstar and I didn’t see what the big hype was but now they’re locking threads when they get sick of them? Eek

Agreed. If they cannot handle feedback and constructive criticism then how can we trust them to assist in moderating the community fairly?

Bias doesn't mean you outright hate someone or even dislike them - just means you're more likely to jump toward one conclusion from them vs another.

For example - you might be quicker to flag the comment or attempt to lock a conversation of someone you don;t get along with as well and be more lenient toward those you do.
