Might be rude to ask but how many CT's is your engagement ring? What is average?

FH and I are looking at e-rings together. The jeweler said about 3/4 Ct. Center stone is what most people get. What do you think? Also, feel free to post your e-ring pic. I know this blog has been done many times but I would like to see the pictures along with the sizes. Thanks Ladies!...

I haven't had mine appraised yet, but I think it's about 3/4 ct. FS and I picked it out together and anything bigger looked ridiculous on my fingers. I need to take it to the jewelers and get it appraised. Maybe when we go back for our wedding bands.

I don't know all the specific's of my ring except that it's Coast and the center stone is just over a carat, it's platinum and I LOVE it! It sparkles from every direction because there is diamonds all over and it has the vintage look I love. Someday we will get wedding bands but they will have to be custom made so really $$$$ because I don't want to lose all the diamonds on the sides!

Beautiful rings ladies!!! Mine is a 1ct round brilliant cut D- colorless- FL- flawless diamond. I love it!!! That is about all my finger could take, I have a size 2.75 finger. Wedding band I believe just over a 1/4 ct.

Mz B - don't feel bad, you love your ring, it's the one he proposed to you with and asked you spend the rest of your life with him. NO matter the size/value/clarity/cut - that is THE most important thing.

That is why I won't ever "upgrade" my ring (and why i didn't upgrade in my first marriage after 20 years with a diamond chip).

Mine is a carat and a half together. My engagement ring is a carat (3 stones.... middle stone half/side stones quarter). My wedding band is half.

Mz B-there is NOTHING to feel badly about! We are all in different places in our life. And you don't want to start a marriage off with debt because of an e-ring.

Mz B- dont feel bad at all!!! I would have been happy with whatever my husband chose, its all about the meaning behind it. It doesn't mean FH care any less or any more. At the end of the day we are all the same- loving each other Smiley smile

Thanks for the posts ladies. I see now there is no average. I guess we just need to go on what we can afford and the 3c's. And honestly i agree that i think i will love whatever it is because of the symbolism.

4.5 carat sapphire & 2.3 carats of diamond (78) surrounding it and down the sides of the ring. i did not want a traditional engagement ring & have always loved sapphires.

    Denise: I agree.

Although if I'd wanted he probably would've come up with the money for a bigger stone, this is what I liked and realisticaly,do I NEED something on my finger worth $3000 or do we need a newer car? lol

It's all about preference and whether it's a plain band or solid diamond it's what it symbolizes that counts Smiley winking

    I LOVE my ring

    I LOVE MY RING TOO!

I always expected a ring from FH but never this ring!

Evelyn (FH's grandmother) wore my ring for 45 years of wedded bliss and trials & tribulations. I feel her with me everyday and know that she is so happy that I am wearing her ring.

It wasn't my $5000 2ct pressure mounted princess cut diamond "dream" ring... it was and is so much more.

We're having my band made because I love the dips so much and wanted my band to have the same profile as my e-ring.

A diamond isn't in the budget currently but FH sure knows what a great 5 or 10 year anniversary gift (and if he forgets, I'll be sure to remind him Smiley winking maybe then I'll get my Canadian diamond!)
