Might be rude to ask but how many CT's is your engagement ring? What is average?

FH and I are looking at e-rings together. The jeweler said about 3/4 Ct. Center stone is what most people get. What do you think? Also, feel free to post your e-ring pic. I know this blog has been done many times but I would like to see the pictures along with the sizes. Thanks Ladies!...

Mine is just under 2 carats total with the center stone being 1.06 and the setting is platinum. My pics don't do it justice so I added a stock photo from the site too...I love ring pic threads!Smiley smile

Very beautiful rings everyone. Mine is a bit bigger at 3 cts center stone and 5 cts total. Mine is almost flawless and hubs paid for it too in terms of the cut and clarity. Hubby wanted something that left a statement and I think he got his wish.

Here is some information on the four c's, off bluenile.com:

Cut- The cut of a diamond determines its brilliance. Put simply, the better a diamond is cut, the more sparkle it will have.

Color- A diamond's color grade actually refers to the lack of color. In other words, diamonds that are white, containing little or no color, receive higher quality grades than those with visible color.

Clarity- Clarity is a measure of the number and size of the tiny imperfections that occur in almost all diamonds. Many of these imperfections are microscopic, and do not affect a diamond's beauty in any discernible way.

Carat- Carat is specifically a measure of a diamond's weight, and by itself may not accurately reflect a diamond's size. We tend to evaluate diamond size by viewing it from the top because that is how diamonds are presented to us when set into a ring. Carat weight should be considered in conjunction with distance in millimeters across the top of the diamond and diamond's cut grade.

Mine is .91 center stone, not sure of the weight of the side stones, but it's a D color so it sparkles a lot. i love it... btw imho, in this situation, size is something that doesn't matter... lmbo. that being said I will NEVER be one to complain if FH wanted to get something bigger one day lol

Mine is 1 ct total. The center stone is 5/8 and together with the side stones in the band it totals 1.. I'd say anywhere from 1/2 ct to 1 1/2 ct is typical.. I can never get a good clear pic but this one's okay :

I have no idea! I could be wearing CZ's for all I know! LOL...my ring is white gold with 3 rows of 8 diamonds...it's an heirloom passed on to me from 3 generations back and I haven't had it appraised so don't know it's worth in $ value..but I do know it's priceless in emotional value so all that other stuff isn't important to me. I'm not sure what average is. I would think 1 carat???

For me, I love sparklies and I do love bling. I love having a larger stone but I am also going to get a platinum set that is smaller than this one. The center stone will be just over 2 cts and a total weight of 5 1/2.

Also, depending on the cut, a 3/4ct could look bigger than a 1ct, it's all about weight, not 'size' per se.

    But!

My center stone is just under 1c. and the band, plus 2 peek a boo diamonds are a little over 1/2ct

My wedding band that I'm getting is 1/3ct

My center stone is an internally flawless radiant, about 1.2ct, E VSI. It has another .4ct of round sside stones, same grade, and another .4ct round in the wedding band. Total is 2ct.

Well, it wouldn't be rude to ask me. But then again, my answer is probably not helpful, since we decided not to have engagement rings at all.
