I love children. I ADORE CHILDREN.

But if you have children that you do not discipline, DON'T BRING THEM AROUND ME!!

FH and I are having a relatively child free wedding (no children outside of the wedding party)

Its a night wedding. Its formal. Find a babysitter. Have a drink. Get a hotel room and practice making the next baby!!

Our wedding is not YOUR family reunion. Nor should I be responsible for stopping your child from knocking over the cake.

I went to a wedding and saw a child lift up the brides dress and try to play hide and seek under it during the first dance!!

BTW this is not directed toward WW Brides who have children. I'm sure your babies are well behaved. FH has a cousin who does not discipline her children and even if it is clear they are not invited, would show up and throw them on the mercy of other people while she gets drunk.

@dlovesd maybe you can have a day with just you and her? like a whole pamper day or a shopping day with just the two of you? it doesn't make up for not having her at the bachelorette but at least you can get some quality time in with her!

@Angie that's a good idea. She lives in Kansas, her DH is in the military, but hopefully she can come in a few days before & we can get some girl time in! I do have 2 MOHs also, so my sister will be able to take care of any MOH duties the day of so that she doesn't have to worry about anything

Haha I actually wouldn't mind. I'm a big supporter of breast feeding! I just think she may feel awkward being in photos doing it hahah

NWR but my aunt peanut was such a great baby, he took a nap and they left her asleep in her port a crib in the back of my mammaws furniture shop. As in, got home, and THEN realized what happened lol. She was still sleeping when they got there. All of 1/2 mile back when central Florida wasn't as booming as it is now lol. But they both felt shameful ;-)

Maybe try to find a nursing cover that matches her dress? Or find someone on etsy willing to make one if you send them the material? That would be really sweet of you Smiley smile and she can still have a beer or two, or a glass of wine. Supposedly beer increases milk production. I woul have up to 2 drinks while nursing, but that was just me.

@Dgloves- ask the photographer to specifically not take pics of her while nursing, if she doesn't want it. Most people won't take pics of a woman while nursing, unless she specifically says its ok.

@Angie- oh the horrors!! Being FORCED to travel just to eat.....

@catrapoin let me tell you how horrible it was when i had to go with FH to the coast and spend some time alone just relaxing...then we had to go eat at the restaurant we've since deemed the place we're going to have our rehearsal dinner...having to eat all that delicious south american food...

    http://www.blackpalmrestaurant.com

(we had the arepa royal, rollito de carne; i had the callos gigante and FH had the bistek latino)

@Celia Milton - At a very posh Manhattan wedding I went to, you should have seen the uproar when everyone realized there were no Pigs in a Blanket. I was disappointed to, but I just made sure we got an entire plate of shrimp, and we were golden. When my uncle was married, also in Manhattan, some "elite" people made snide comments about the fact they had them during cocktail hour... which is why I saw them trying to take a whole tray off with them!

You just have to have PIB. It's wedding law!

    Ooooh tostones! Yum-may!

Girl.... I've been there. Usually it's between feeding me or feeding my kids. I end up sucking down water or tea and pretending that I'm not hungry.

Girl you just named off all the comforts of home! My mom knew 365 ways to cook chicken.

I've still never liked boiled chicken the way i used to absolutely devour my grandma's boiled chicken. other delicacies: rice pudding, corn pudding, lemon chess pie, and yellow cake. OMG i miss my grandma so much and now i am SO hungry!!!

ps when we went to hawaii a couple years back i was in HEAVEN because apparently spam is big over there...in their convenience stores they sold spam musubis (spam over rice wrapped in seaweed)...FH was completely grossed out while i bought one from every place i could find it

LOL I've heard that about Hawaii- they love their Spam over there. My kids have decided lately that they are in love with Spam. My little one loves rice too, so as soon as I get them on board with seaweed we'll be set Smiley smile

And I totally get that- I'm a huge fan of chicken salad, but I can never make it like my aunt. Even with her recipe, it just doesn't taste the same Smiley sad

Lol as long as you don't get them to try it by itself they should be fine. maybe ease them into it by getting a basic sushi roll (cucumber roll, avocado roll, tuna roll)? i didn't think i could get past the taste but it doesn't have much of a taste when there's stronger flavors around it.

i do a really basic chicken salad if i'm just eating it - canned chicken, mustard, mayo, a little adobo, and sunflower seeds. may not be for everyone but it works for me.

some people can just make things better because they make it. my sister has that talent - she's been cooking for the better part of 18 years, professionally and leisurely. she lives with me and FH. i am SO spoiled. feel free to book tickets to FL for a visit but bring some cash to buy groceries LOL

ps i noticed you're from MD. i'm originally from VA and have family in MD!

Oh they like the California rolls enough. I just never remember to buy seaweed, although as a low carber I probably should. It's great in fake "ramen" soup...

I think it's just a tradition thing. Like I grew up eating her chicken salad whenever we visited, and it was a comfort food. So even though I have the recipe, it's just not the same, because *I* I have to do it lol. I'm a pretty damn good cook, but I just like hers better. Same with my mom's enchiladas Smiley smile

I am "from" Alabama, but have lived in MD long enough that it's "home" now. I'm actually in Cali right now but will be back in MD in a few weeks!
