What's your vote on parent dances? Keep or cancel?

Keep. I dance as a hobby but my instructor says not to choreograph the daddy/ daughter dance because it's cuter that way (not that we have the time to do it anyway, being in separate states). But I do want my dad to nail down some basics of rumba and swing since we can use those styles for the song we'll be dancing to "my girl". My FH might dance with his mom but it'll be just some general swaying.

Keep! I'm an only daughter (with 3 brothers) and my dad and I both have been looking forward to our dance for many years. My fiance on the other hand has chosen to not have a mother-son dance.

I prefer on my case to do mother son dance to continue to implement my children into my celebration. They are 13, 9 and 7.

Where I'm from, parent dances aren't the tradition, the first dance (bride and groom) is the big one

I'm an awful dancer so don't like dancing in front of people but we like the tradition of it so we will keep it, I'll just be super nervous lol

I will do whatever the parents feel comfortable with. My father and sister did a mime to "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" because my dad doesn't like dancing. It was soooo adorable. We might do the same, but I have no idea to what song.

My father and sister did a mime. Or you could read a poem or something to one another. Doesn't have to be a dance.

My future MIL feels the same way so we are doing father-daughter and mother-son dance together! Less attention and less time the guests have to be bored by our traditions 🙂

We’re keeping these. I’m excited to have the special moment with my dad for our dance, and the mother-son dance is really one of the only ways Mother’s-of-the-groom get to participate in much at weddings. I think they’re a special way to honor your parents for raising you and supporting you on your big day.

I am my dad's only daughter and first born, so this is one tradition I can't wait to do. My dad is my everything.

Keep! I like parent dances, they are very sweet! I haven't decided if we will or not, since we don't like being too center of attention!

Keep. It's the one thing you can maintain tradition with but make so incredibly personal.
