What's your vote on parent dances? Keep or cancel?

Unsure right now... My dad absolutely hates being in the spotlight and so does FH mom. So we will probably cancel this and go straight into celebrating!

Keep - or I'd love to. My FH's parents have both passed, and it hurts his heart that he won't be able to dance with his mother. In fairness, we're going to skip the traditional dances, and swap for dances with our children. I have 2 sons, and my FH has a daughter and a son.

Keep for me! I am super close with my dad and I am very much looking forward to a dance with him, no matter how emotional it will be. FH dace with his mom is still up in the air though.

I'm keeping these just a little different on my part. My mom will be walking me down the aisle and then I'm doing a dance with my grandpa at my reception since he took the father role in my life. My FH and FMIL also will be doing their dance. I just think it's a great way to thank both significant family members for all they've done for us over the years.

100% keeping! I am the youngest and my dad's only daughter so we are super close! We will be dancing to "Daddy Dance With Me" by Krystal Keith. FH is also doing a mother-son because he is also the youngest so this is a bittersweet moment for both sets of parents! FH and his mom are dancing to "All to You" by Scott Keo.

Both my relationship with my father and my fiancé's relationship with his mother has been rocky for years now. However, there’s still something beautiful about spending some one on one time with the parent who is giving you away before you spend the rest of your life with your spouse. After much thought and consideration we are keeping the parent dances.

We're going to keep it, but we won't be dancing to the whole song. I just want to enjoy my reception and not have every moment planned and just enjoy it.

I'm fine either way, however my father has made tremendous strides to heal our relationship over the last 4 years or so. I think it would be great to honor him with a dance.

My FH will dance with his mom, but my dad passed away earlier this year. I don't want to dance with anyone else... it's going to be really hard. Someone suggested dancing with my FH to a song dedicated to him, but for the time being, I'm still feeling like that will be too much for me. That may change as we get closer to the big day, tho.

One of the only things we are keeping. My dad and I love Christmas songs and are gonna dance to one together. I'm so excited.

For myself, I NEED the father daughter dance, I think that’s what most girls dream of doing some day (at least I did)

Absolutely keeping. What a special memory. I have 2 pictures dancing with my daddy. Once when I was very small standing on his feet. The other was at 11 yrs old dancing at my aunt's wedding. Some memories are to precious to not have.
