What's your vote on parent dances? Keep or cancel?

Cancel. It's not the feel we want for our wedding.

If you're having a reception, I'd say "KEEP!" It's kind of adorable.

There were only six of us to our mini reception, and the only dance we did was the "father daughter dance" we felt so awkward but I've always wanted to dance with my dad to the song "In my Fathers Eyes" by Eric Clapton. So I got it, ha! Smiley smile My dads the best!

Keep! My dad is the most wonderful person ever and I couldn't imagine not dancing with him at my wedding. I'm letting him pick the song we dance to though, so I might change my mind after. There's a very good chance I'll be dancing to ACDC....

We are definitely keep this tradition. Unless your parent or fill in is unavailable, this should always be kept in my opinion.

The one and only song my daughter has always known she would dance to at her wedding was My Girl by the Temptations. She and her father have been singing it all her life.

Keep. I wanted to have the father/daughter dance because I knew it would mean so much to my dad. My FH wasn't thinking about doing the mother/son dance but his dad suggested he should because his mom would really love it. Yes, it is our day but our parents are a big part of us being where we are today.

I’m doing a father-daughter dance but he said his mom wouldn’t do it. And well my father-daughter dance is not to a typical song that’s usually played here (not one of those fun meshed together ones either), but it’s one I clearly remember listening to with him in the truck riding who knows where. While I love him completely we definitely don’t have the relationship/history that most of those songs sing about, so I’d rather pick something that at least gave us the feel good memories of those rides.

I think it just depends on your personal preference. I always wanted to have a father daughter dance and my father was terminally I'll at the time and actually passed away less then 5 months after my wedding so I am very greatful to have had that moment with him. Though my husband really did not want to have a dance with his mom because he doesnt really have a great relationship with her but thought if I was doing a father daughter dance then he probably should have a dance with her. She ended up bawling her eyes out and wailing the whole dance which again since they arent close it was odd behavior and uncomfortable for my husband but that whole situation is a whole other and long story lol but I say if it's something you want and there is time for it on your schedule then do it. If you dont its OK too. Its whatever you want on your day.

On the fence. He's close to his parents and I'm not close to mine at all.

I don't feel comfortable having people watching me dance. Having said that, I could possibly be persuaded to jig with my mum to We Love To Boogie by T Rex. 😉

Cancel. I'm not close to any father figure and FH doesn't care either way. We would prefer to have dancing open to all after the first dance.
