Is anyone else NOT having a wedding video?

If you're married and didn't have one, do you regret it now? If you’re getting married are you planning on having one, what are your reasons? And if you’re not having one, why not? As of right now we are NOT having one, due to budget… I rather spend the money on photographer… and he doesn’t do...

If you’re getting married are you planning on having one, what are your reasons?

And if you’re not having one, why not?

As of right now we are NOT having one, due to budget… I rather spend the money on photographer… and he doesn’t do video!

At the moment we booked him we didn’t care much about a wedding video, because my sisters & cousins who have had a videographer haven’t watched their video in their 10 yrs they’ve been married… so is it a waste of money?

I’m asking because now that I’ve seen some wedding videos online.. they are so cute, sweet and very touching, and I think I might want to watch it on every anniversary! lol

Truth is, i never wanted a video, budget reasons too. Well things changed and i got one reluctantly, firstly because H suggested since our fathers wont be present(honestly photos would have just been fine), so I agreed and he wasnt too pricey.

    I love my video!

I have watched it more close to 50 times if possible and I smile and get so happy, but one thing for sure is that I probably wont be watching it in the next 10 years...So i wont say its a waste of money but its really not necessary.

We didn't and I don't regret it. I have photos and memories. I'm not going to over stress about something that's not in the budget.

We are not having one done. Just for budget reasons. I would love to do this but there is no way we can come up with another thousand dollars for it. I am hoping that the pictures will suffice Smiley smile

We are not having one because I feel the same way as a few of the other ladies. It would probably get put away somewhere and I would never watch it, but a picture album I would most definitely look at.

We are only having the videographer film the ceremony. This is due to the fact that my uncle (my dad's only brother) is very ill and can not make it to our wedding. So, by filming it we can send him a copy.

Also our videographer is a local journalism student at the college, so it isn't costing much and my parents are paying for it. I think this works out for everyone.

If my parents weren't paying for it, we wouldn't have one. I dislike myself on video and we couldn't justify the cost. I'm just happy with great pictures

We are having a videographer. Photography and videography are the two most important things on my list outside of the venue. I don't want to miss a thing that day. It is expensive but it's worth every penny. I figured if we are going to invest all this money on one day I at least want to have video footage of it.

We weren't going to until the day before, DH was like, what if I had Travis come record with our office's new camera? So we called his coworker and he agreed! He won't even take our cash, and I'm so glad we were able to do videography. I teared up watching a few weeks after the wedding, and while it'll probably sit on the shelf, I like knowing that we can watch it if we want to.

We won't be having a video of our wedding either....I never really wanted one because I see other people in my family who had one and they barely watch the video. I know for a fact I wouldn't watch it. Me and FH went on a cruise and took a bunch of pictures and even did a video. I looked at that video one time but I look at the pictures all the time!

We didn't and we regret it. Some of our guests took little snippets of video and I have watched them several times. I would love to be able to watch our ceremony. If I could do it over, I would have budgeted for that in the beginning.

I would have liked one, but my DH was *adamant* that we not-- I think he was afraid I'd make everybody sit and watch it! Smiley sexy Since our budget got slashed last minute, it's probably just as well.

Nope, not having one due to budget reasons. But, will have a family member use our videocam to tape it so we will at least have something to watch in years go come. My sister still looks at the one a family member did at hers 25 years ago.

We didn't have one for our wedding. Since both of us have married before, we didn't want a formal pro photographer either. DH used to shoot weddings(in the manual camera days). He used our DIL to help shoot Prince Ranier's visit to our parish. She has a real eye for candid shots. We prefer candids, so she was a perfect choice. I love those pics of that little smile right before we kissed. It truly captures that emotion.

Cate is not having a videographer. She wanted a good photographer and that's it.

    Yeah...

FH & I do not want video. It's just not our thing but I feel like my parents might get one behind my back.

    We've discussed this to death.
