Help my Fiance had NO rhythm!

Christine, on March 15, 2012 at 1:50 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14

What should I do?

Go dancing every weekend now until the wedding?

Dance Classes?

Here we are at a wedding in January (before the proposal), he wanted to try dancing and it was not good! I immediately escorted him to the bar for another beer 

I love him with all my heart but I can do nothing but fall to the floor laughing when he tries to cut a rug!!!

We just went and took dance lessons at Arthur Murray. It was four weeks, two lessons a week, and we now have a "wedding dance". We went in with both of us having two left feet and no rythem. Last night we went to our last lesson and we feel very comfortable that we're not going to make fools of ourselves out there. I'm super glad we did it.

Hahaha Too funny! Sign up for dance lessons! Jeremy thinks he doesn't need them but I've seen his dancing & it resembles a JR high boy. Needless to say, we will be taking them! haha

I want to be able to do the western waltz and look good doing it!

DH cant dance but I dont care! We didnt do dance classes, and our first dance went just fine. He did participate in the chicken dance, cha cha slide and the cupid shuffle for me! That was the most he's danced in 5 years lol

Yeah FH is the same...no rhythm!!! he dances okay when he's drunk but not by himself though. People always go but he's black....yeah that don't mean nothing lol but surprisingly he suggested going for dance lessons and we started a couple weeks ago and things have been good!!! he's feeling a bit more comfortable and we practice a little at home as well - if he wants to take dance lessons that's great if not then just let him be him =)

    Do it!

We've been taking dance classes for more than two years now. When we first started, I would get so frustrated- I have never met someone so rhythmically challenged! I mean it was so bad, the dance instructor, or me, would have to tell him when to start leading so we dance with the music. Now we go out salsa dancing. For our first dance, we are doing a bit of fox trot, swing, and waltz.

You can get a lot accomplished by the time your wedding comes around.

Here is what saved us a lot of money- videotape yourselves during dance class. That way, when you are home and you are practicing the dance you will remember exactly what is it you are supposed to be doing.

    Good Luck

If you can afford it, and he is game, I would highly recommend dance lessons. FH and I took wedding dance lessons, and have had a blast, we plan on continuing lessons after the wedding. If not, then it not a big deal, you guys just have fun and no one is going to care!

Oh I feel your pain my FH dances like a chimp on crack, and he thinks he is an amaising dancer cause he's a "classicly trained musician" so he has impeciable rhythm...but the man's a spazz.

You could try lessons I've herd they can do wonders but if he has no rhythm what so ever it might just frustrate him more. I know it hard but just let him have fun he'll be embarrassing you for the rest of your life....so you might as well start getting used to it at the wedding Smiley smile

My FH cant dance either, so for our first dance we are just doing a slow song where we can just "move side to side hugging each other" as my FH says LOL. then for the rest of the night, he is free to "dance" any way he wants.. which will be all over the place hahaha but its all in good fun, so im not worried about it.

If he wants to learn to dance then i say go for it, but it should be up to him. my FH is a great dancer, I on the other hand only dance when I have had a few and even then I dance like Elaine from Seinfeld. It doesn't really matter as long as you are both having fun! Smiley smile
