Before saying “I Do”, it’s important that a couple discusses whether one (or both of you!) will be changing your surnames. It’s a wedding-related decision that will affect you for the rest of your life! (And a decision you want to make before you start getting monogrammed gifts!)

No. I love my last name and he is unsure about taking mine so we are thinking of hyphenating the names, but we haven't decided that yet.

We are both changing! He currently has his biological father's last name, but wants to change to his step-dad's surname, so we are just going to do that together when we get married!

I don't know! I will either take his last name or hyphenate.
My last name is unique and is sometimes mispronounced/mispelled, but as far I know, all of us on this planet are related. Which is a bit special to me.
His last name is slightly more common and very easily pronounced and spelled, but there are a few girls that would have my first and last name if I took it.

So I really don't know. Hyphenating seems a bit troublesome especially if I decide to go by one or the other for the sake of simplicity.

We discussed this at length throughout our engagement. We made our final decision about a month before our first bridal shower. Our name changes are official now !

I will be taking FH's last name. It's going from bad to worse though as far as spelling and pronunciation lol so I rather not hyphenate. His last name is German.
