Have you decided on your married name? Will it stay the same or are you switching it up?

Next Question: Have you figured out where you'll live?

Back to the Beginning: Are you ready to say "I do"?

Yes! I'm taking his last name and dropping my maiden name so it'll be first, middle, and FH's last name. I'm looking forward to having an easy last name to pronounce! My last name gets mispronounced 95% of the time.

I'm going to move my maiden name to my middle name - I'll be taking my FH's last name!

I'm keeping my name. There's not many men in my family to carry the name, and I like my last name. FH is cool with it, and has even considered possibly taking my name because he doesn't have a relationship with his father and isn't thrilled about sharing a last name with him

I'm keeping my name, and taking his too. Cos I'm just plain greedy. Smiley xd

His surname will go before mine though.

I decided this long before I met DH, and we discussed it long before we even were ready to get married.

    I kept my name.

DH expected this before I brought it up, as MIL kept hers. Worked out great!

What state are you in? My future SIL did that in Texas when she got married last year. She eliminated her birth given middle name altogether.

I'll assume his last name and will most likely hyphenate it

Having my last name my entire life (52 years) even during my last marriage, I decided to change it to his. He said I can even hyphenate it if I like but I think it's time for a change.

I will be taking his last name. I have no connection to my last name plus I hate it so I will be gladly taking his last name.

Yes, I will not be changing my lat name and neither will he. Over 75 percent of the world does it this way, it’s even illegal for a woman in Quebec to change her last name after marriage.

Yep. I’m taking his last name! I always dreamed of taking my future husbands last name so I’m definitely not skipping that tradition! Everyone keeps asking me if I’ll change my first name, too, as I’ve been going by Ema for the last 14 years. My full first name is Emily and I used to want to legally change it but I’m named after my grandmother and after she passed away, I just can’t see myself changing it. I’ll still go by Ema, but legally I’ll still be Emily.
