Do you wear your ring to bed?

Heather, on July 12, 2012 at 9:08 AM

I know it is a weird question but I just got engaged and I am not sure if I should be wearing my ring to bed haha. It is such a high setting that I feel like I might poke FH in the eye! And our puppy sleeps in the bed too, don't wanna hurt him LOL. I know I don't have to, but I was just wondering...

I do not wear mine to bed or in the shower

My fingers swell up pretty bad during the night so its painful when I fall asleep with my ring on

I wear my everywhere except the shower, pool, beach, and cleaning. Otherwise it stays on my finger. I get it regularly checked however and so far so good. The ring kind of protects itself (reason FH got it was to keep me from accidentally scratching him like my promise ring does). I don't move a lot in my sleep and have nothing there to hit it on, and it's tight enough not to fall off at night. Fingers crossed I have no horror stories, but it doesn't make me any more inclined to change my habits.

I don't wear mine to bed because I sleep with my hands under my head and I just find it uncomfortable, I have tried going to bed with it on and it usually ends up back in the jewellery box in 10 minutes

I only take mine off when I put lotion on after a shower. I even wear it kickboxing, but I turn the diamond inside my hand so that it won't be damaged when I hit the punching bag with bare hands.

Wearing your ring to bed an actually cause your settings to come lose, it wears down your prongs faster. I would suggest taking it off at night and just put it next to your bed side table.

I use to wear my ring to bed until my first cleaning and check up and a couple of my side diamonds were already lose, since I starting taking it off at night like they suggested I have had no issues with lose diamonds.

Yes, the only time I don't wear it is when I'm in the shower. Well, normally. Sometimes my fingers get a little swollen so I will take it off if I'm home or if I'm home laying around reading.

I don't wear mine to bed.

I also don't wear it when I'm swimming, exercising/playing sports, showering, doing dishes, kneading bread or making burger patties... I think that's it!

I don't wear my ring to bed or to do chores or any activity where it could be "rough-housed". I have several small stones surrounding the single princess cut stone in the middle and although we've been engaged since February it still feels too delicate to take any risks with <3.

I took mine off at night when i got ready for bed and put it back on in the morning as part of my morning routine. just remember it is consider to be bad luck to take your wedding ring off! so when you get hitched don't take it off!!!! however if it comes off accedently your spouse is to replace it on your finger.

so it might be good practice to not take your ring off a lot. :-) hope this helps :-)

I take my ring off when I go to sleep, cook, shower, and every time I wash my hands. Otherwise, I let her shine any other time. Smiley smile

I don't believe in the superstitions of it being bad luck to take off your wedding ring. I'm sorry but bad luck would be refusing to take it off due to silly superstitions and losing it in the ocean or down the drain or something. No, thank you.

Because of how important my rings are to me, I take them off to make sure they don't get lost or ruined. When I take them off, I be sure to put them somewhere safe. I'm extra cautious with my engagement ring because my center stone was originally my great grandmother's, then passed down to my grandmother and then to me. I'm very careful with it because I would absolutely die if the setting ever became damaged and I lost that diamond as a result.

I wear mine 24/7. Probably cause last time I took it off (while cleaning to 'keep it safe') it got caught in a fold in my pocket, and I was convinced I'd somehow lost it for 3 sad hours! So now I don't take chances. Hadn't thought of al the chances I take leaving it on!

I pretty much got a manual with my ring... it has 62 small diamonds around the band and the big diamond in the middle... so I've lost two little ones already... So no to bed, shower, washing hands, cooking, cleaning.... swimming.

I wear mine all the time except in the shower and when it's likely to get really dirty (making meatloaf, kneading dough, etc.).

Something else I learned a little while back. I have really sensitive skin and I washed my hands with anti bacterial soap. Partially dried them and laid down for a nap. Because my skin was still wet under my ring, the soap reacted with my ring and my finger was all red and itchy for days. I do have sensitive skin but nothing like that before.

I never take mine off. It's a princess cut solitaire, and kind of a high setting, so yeah I occasionally scratch myself or someone else with it, but I'm worried that if i take it off I'll forget to put it back on. I'm not concerned about the setting loosening because Zales guarantees it, if the diamond falls out they will replace it for free (I'm not sure if this is standard or if we paid extra for it, I can't remember). And so far I haven't gotten anything on it that hasn't come off (all types of paint included), so I don't usually bother taking it off even when I'm painting or crafting.

I have to add: I do take it off when I'm making meatloaf =)
