Catering : How much are you paying

Terran, on March 27, 2010 at 3:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 73

How much are you paying for person at your wedding? Let me know if it lunch or dinner, and if you want what you are serving too. Thanks, ladies!

We're doing a very informal picnic dinner--wraps and a few sides (pasta salad, spinach salad, and fruit plate). The Overton, NV restaurant we're using is charging $50 delivery & set-up and a base price of $11/person, but I know that's a super good deal!

    $75 per person, luckily it's a small wedding - only 35 people.

@ Cabell : You can't beat a good deal, that sounds really good right now. This post is going to make me hungry by the end of it! What are you doing for drinks? The place I am looking at only includes coffee and iced tea. I'm trying to decide if I want to get the lemonade or the soda at an additional price or if I should do both...

I am actually having a taco bar---carne asada, chicken and carnitas. With all the sides--rice, beans, guacamole, chips and salsas. My daughter's boyfriend's dad works for the catering company and I am paying $10 per person.

They're not including drinks on that, so I need my sister to double-check, but we're budgeting alcohol separately for the reception at the hotel, which will follow the picnic at the ceremony site (Valley of Fire State Park), and thinking we might just do bottled water for the ceremony (5:30 in the desert in Nevada; we don't want anyone to faint) and get enough to go with dinner after, too.

With the help of my family and FMIl, I will be catering my own wedding buffet style. We have budgeted $1,100 for food and drinks. We are having a lunch thing with soup, a green salad, macaroni salad, four different sandwich choices, a fruit tray, a veggie tray, a cheese and cracker tray, some fresh baked bread, some chips and a few different dips, cookies and well the cake (but the cake fee isn't factored into that price.) I don't know what the per person price will be.

I'm paying $1300 for 75 people, that includes sweet and unsweet tea, a bunch of hordouves like meatballs, chicken cabobs, a fruit and meat tray, and deviled eggs, and then beef tips and gravy/mash potatos/rolls and green beens for half the people (35) and lasagna/salad/and garlic bread for the other half. that also includes delievery, set up, disposable dishes, food table cloths, and 2 people to help serve buffet style for cocktail hour and dinner. we are paying a bartender seperate and going to have an open bar. I was so excited! I thought it was a really good deal!

That is a lot of food, mmmm! Your guests are going to be thrilled. Are you having any lemonade or anything? I know a lot of people that don't like tea, but don't drink. Just a question!

I'm paying about 1800 for bruschetta, crudite, hummus and pita for "cocktail hour", freshly grilled veggies, chicken breast, chicken kabobs and veggie burgers, cookie platter, all soda and water, and coffee and tea for about 45 people.

    It's a lot.

$45 a person, but that includes venue rental, tables, plates, napkins, a bartender (but not the booze) our dj, a cake credit, and, well, everything but the attire, decor, and photographer.

We are doing BBQ and its $7 a person which includes:BBQ, potato salad, pickles, onions, bread, tea, water, plates, silverware, glasses, and napkins. We are having a really big wedding so it's still coming out to be about $2500 so we were lucky we found it so cheap.

Mine is $3600 for 100 people, all rentals ,linens, plates, etc, passed and plated apps for cocktail hour, a really yummy buffet with huli huli chicken (FH is from Hawaii), coconut rice, fancy salad, roasted veggies, and a signature non alcoholic beverage. That also includes set up, tear down, wait staff and gratuity. We are paying separately for the bar.

I know we could have gone cheaper, but it's worth it for my and my family to enjoy our night and not have to worry about setting it up, or cleaning dishes etc. it will all be taken care of!

My daughters wedding and reception will be at a local hotel.

The beauty there is that the hotel staff will do everything, food-wise, with the exception of the napkins (which he are renting in the wedding color). I will supply wine glasses and champagne glasses (I am in the wine business, so I am snobby about the type of glassware...LOL) I will also be shipping in the wine and we will pay a $12 per bottle corkage fee.

The food will run $32 per person (including gratuity).

The menu will include Crudites; Cheese and Fruit; Stuffed Crimini Mushrooms and Petite Phyllo Cups filled with Goats Cheese and Carmelized Onions.....then on to dinner...which will be served buffet style:

London Broil; Chicken Marsala; Columbia River Salmon; Caesar Salad; Spinach and Pancetta Salad; Rosemary Red Potatoes; Herbed Rice; Sliced Fresh Fruit; Chefs Choice of Vegetables; Bread and Butter.

$13-14/pp. Its at a restaurant and that does not include alcohol which we will not be purchasing. If our guests want alcohol, they can purchase it themselves. That will be put on our WW so that no one is surprised. I don't forsee problems since no one in my family or FH's drinks on a regular basis.
