Are you sure you want to marry him???? :o

Cecy, on January 28, 2011 at 2:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 52

Hi ladies!!

So, I went to have dinner few days ago with my friend and her sister came along. They haven't see me since I got engaged well after they ask to se the ring lol the sister asked me flat out "are you sure you want to marry him?" I was like wow no one has asked that ever!! My reaction was ofcourse!! And she replied tell me why??? I felt like i was at an interview!! She is a great girl and very fun to hang out with but I was really surprised she asked me that. She also asked me I was going to have an open bar wedding??? Mmm I just smile and said we're not sure yet but just in case bring your wallet lol... I feel really offended by all those questions am I over reacting????

This is someone who should NOT be at your wedding...I can't believe you are considering inviting (and paying for) her! BARF!

Agreed with Analy.. I would 'forget' her invitation.. Anyone who doubts our relationship, shouldn't be celebrating our marriage with us. Smiley tongue

You know people have had the weirdest reactions honestly. My aunt has a friend who i don't know very well but she acts like she knows me. She tells me let me see your ring and then she looks at my aunt and right in front of me says "how long do you think they will last, we should start putting our bets in" and my face was like what??? And ive heard other things. People just say things without thinking, and its been hard for me to follow this but don't worry about everyone else and follow your heart and plan your special day!

*picking jaw up off floor* Oh Em Gee!!! Really??? That's an awful thing to say to someone and I would have told her so. Throughout the planning process the one thing I have found is that you can always rely on people to say the dumbest things. I would not invite the sister. Only supportive people should be allowed at the wedding.

If you value your friend's opinion ask her if she's seen something in your relationship that concerns you and hear her out. It's possible she's worried about you and that's where her sister got the 'do you want to get married'.

    Otherwise - how ridiculous!

Uh...so invite the sister (bff) and the mom. She doesn't need to come to something she doesn't support. Period.

My jaw dropped ready that, OH HELLZ NO!! You are not over-reacting since that was very inappropriate of her to say to you. Is she invited to the wedding? Sounds like she doesn't know you that well - You should tell her how she made you feel.

I hear you - sounds strange. What's your BFF's take? Have you asked her what's up with her sister?

When I first started reading your comment, I was kinda like thats cool that you someone had you verbalize why you want to get married. I thought it was someone who was giving you the opportunity to really think about it. My mind drifted for a bit to what I would say and why is I know I want to marry him. Then I shook it off and kept reading. Then I really was upset for you!!!! I agree don't invite her!
