Are Wedding Favors a Must?

Hey Ladies. Are there any of you who are NOT giving out wedding favors? Are they an absolute must? Hey Ladies. Are there any of you who are NOT giving out wedding favors? Are they an absolute must? I don't want to seem cheap, but we are almost over budget and one part of my brain says "I am paying for food and desert and everything else, the experience should be enough". I have been to plenty weddings, grabbed favors and threw them away shortly thereafter. The other part of my brain says "Don't be ratchet, have the favors". Honestly, I feel like they are a waste of money. Am I wrong?

Abby, I agree. I think if the wedding is a great experience, most wont even notice.

Lauren, no you are not the only one that feels this way. I honestly do not want to waste the money on it. The reception is my ultimate party favor.

We have two of our own kids (3 and 5) so we know what it’s like to bring kids to a wedding. It’s a pain if there’s no entrainment for them because then we can’t have fun or they are bothering other guests. A kids table with activities for kids is truly a gift for EVERYONE! 😂

We chose to do a small favor and they r shotglasses, and its affordable for us. But I do agree it isnt necessary, the cost for food, open bar and entertainment all night: DJ. It's all free for the guest and honestly that's enough lol

Growing up, I always kept them. Up until my stepfather assumed they belong to my stepsister and pitched them (grr), I had them on my headboard. I did mine super cheap by using beads and wire i already owned to put onto charms and make keepsake book marks. I didnt do enough for my full guest count and they will be in a basket by the guest book so those who wish to take them can and those who dont wont.

That said, anymore they are not required so if you really dont want them, dont have them. You can also make a small donation and place placards saying you did so.

I went the cheapest route because I had the same thought, I bought butter mints at hobby lobby, about 6 or 8 bags, spent $11-12 and they were a hit. Everyone took them home or ate them after dinner. I'd say the boxes are cute for candy but they went to the garbage although I bought them on sale and with coupons but I'd get mini bowls at the dollar store that you can keep or give away and put the candy on the table that way or spread the candy nicely amongst the tables
