Are Wedding Favors a Must?

Hey Ladies. Are there any of you who are NOT giving out wedding favors? Are they an absolute must? Hey Ladies. Are there any of you who are NOT giving out wedding favors? Are they an absolute must? I don't want to seem cheap, but we are almost over budget and one part of my brain says "I am paying for food and desert and everything else, the experience should be enough". I have been to plenty weddings, grabbed favors and threw them away shortly thereafter. The other part of my brain says "Don't be ratchet, have the favors". Honestly, I feel like they are a waste of money. Am I wrong?

Mob For Keely & Aaron, you are so right. If I have a photo booth or not, I probably still wont do favors. Lol.

I would recommend having a favor. I don't necessarily think they're a must, but I do think people look for them and expect them. And I think it's a nice little way of saying thank you for celebrating our day with us. I would always vote something edible! Maybe chocolate covered pretzels or cookies or something like that? You can do them yourself and they can be relatively inexpensive.

I’m not getting married until August 2020, but we don’t plan to do favors. I do plan to have cups and koozies made that they can use and take home, though.

A couple of weddings that I've been to lately haven't had any wedding favors. I didn't really notice until I got home and it really wasn't a big deal. That being said we're doing personalized cups as wedding favors for the wedding.

We decided on a popcorn bar. It is my favorite snack so I love the thought of it. We will also have cookies and candy on our dessert table. Otherwise I would not be doing favors

I’ve been going back and forth on this also. I feel like I need to thank the people who came from far away somehow. We were thinking of giving cobalt colored glass Moravian star ornaments as favors. If I can pull the money together, is that something most people would take? I was thinking they could also double as decorations.

Tara, I see your point, but getting on the microphone and saying a speech and telling them thank you, the hugs and kisses aren't enough? I already have to send them all thank you cards afterwards. This is a lot. Smiley surprise

If we have extra money in our budget we’re going to do a hot coco favor for our winter wedding! If we don’t then we’ll go without. At my sisters wedding they made a donation to our local humane society in lieu of favors.

Heather, thats a nice idea. I think I want to give something nice to the guests to use during our send off.

Marla, people take any and everything, especially when its free. I am definitely going to thank my guests but it will be in a way that saves me money.

Jordyn, that's sweet. I though about donations for the women's shelter nearby.
