Are Wedding Favors a Must?

Hey Ladies. Are there any of you who are NOT giving out wedding favors? Are they an absolute must? Hey Ladies. Are there any of you who are NOT giving out wedding favors? Are they an absolute must? I don't want to seem cheap, but we are almost over budget and one part of my brain says "I am paying for food and desert and everything else, the experience should be enough". I have been to plenty weddings, grabbed favors and threw them away shortly thereafter. The other part of my brain says "Don't be ratchet, have the favors". Honestly, I feel like they are a waste of money. Am I wrong?

I went to a wedding where she got a ton of Old Navy flip flops the day they sold for $1 and she put them in baskets for people to take! Was awesome when your feet were killing! Cheap way to give favors but don’t think they are necessary!

An edible favor is good. Less chance of money being wasted.

I'm not doing favors. I feel like they're a waste of money.

The only wedding favor that I've ever received that didn't get thrown away or shoved in a drawer shortly after was little wood medallion keychains that had been hand wood-burned with hearts, deer, etc.

I don't think they're necessary. I am having a bar at my wedding so that seems like a good favor in my opinion. Something that I still want to do if we change our mind is to order temporary tattoos of our faces and wedding date. They're on etsy and are pretty affordable for the amount you get. Other than that I am fine with not doing them at all.

I agree. We ordered extra cake so there's enough for people to take a slice home. Have it with their coffee in the morning. Done. No unwanted trinket with our name on it to be thrown away.

Yes, I think that it's a huge waste of money unless it's something that can be consumed!

Yes, I think that it's a waste of money unless it's something that can be consumed! We have a photo booth and that's a favor, but if we have extra money we may do an edible one.

I was having this same internal debate for the same reasons and have settled with NOT doing any. There are other personal touches I want to spend money on. My family and friends are getting enough with this big party called a wedding LOL

Jamieka, Facts!!! Enough money is being spent on so many things that we will only enjoy for THATS DAY and that day only, I don't want to waste the money on something unnecessary.
