Hey Ladies. Are there any of you who are NOT giving out wedding favors? Are they an absolute must? Hey Ladies. Are there any of you who are NOT giving out wedding favors? Are they an absolute must? I don't want to seem cheap, but we are almost over budget and one part of my brain says "I am paying for food and desert and everything else, the experience should be enough". I have been to plenty weddings, grabbed favors and threw them away shortly thereafter. The other part of my brain says "Don't be ratchet, have the favors". Honestly, I feel like they are a waste of money. Am I wrong?

Not necessary at all , i am totally skipping them Smiley smile . Most of the favors get tossed so it's really a waste of money, u can add more booze or smth else with the money u use for favors .

Gean, I agree with you. OMG when I saw your name, I was like " Mom?" That's also my Mother's name and I never see anyone spell it the same. LOLSmiley heart

We did homemade jam, i would say if you do, diy it and make it edible. the jam was a hit with our guests and some took more than one flavor 😂😂
favors don’t have to seem cheap or be super expensive!

I work at a hotel and people do gift bags as wedding favors here and I will tell you some people decline these or they end up tossing half of the stuff that's in the bag because it isn't something that they can't eat, and sometimes we end up having extra favors. If you do favors such as gift bags, make sure that everything is edible in the bag, but with planning my own wedding, my wedding coordinator told me that about 80% people do late night snacks for guests during the reception instead of gift bags (wedding favors) and it's usually a hit.

Wedding favors are just a plus. But if you do decide to do some then something edible would be the way to go. I think my FH and I will do a candy bar and whatever is left over we will keep for our own sweet tooths.

I was wondering the same thing. I have a whole dessert bar with different candies, candy apples and chocolate covered strawberries which aren't cheap. Now I did get some personalized favor boxes so they put they sweet stuff in and a paper bag to put there bigger treats in. That's enough. Just for the candy and dessert bar chile that's a huge favor. So do what's best for you. You still have to live suga. Can't please everybody. Somebody always have something to say. Do youuuuuaaaa boo boo it's ok

I don’t really have favors, the closest to “favors” is the bubbles that they are using to blow when we walk down the aisle! but they’re not a must because sometimes they don’t even use them.

Destiera, I was thinking the same thing. I want to give everyone sparklers to light as we walk out to leave..our send off, I guess I should say. That's it. Inexpensive.

No not at all!! girl you have to live within your means. I have seen some do donations to charities in lieu of favors. and obviously you don't have to say how much you donated. even if its $50 its still a donation. and you can print them on a nice paper and put one on every table. IF you do, i would stay around $1-2 a piece. we did beer koozies - simple and fairly inexpensive. i've seen people do sunglasses or even flip flops.

My friend decided to donate to one of the rescues she is a fan of in lieu of favors as she says "people just throw them out and its a waste of money".
We're doing a small low key wedding, and not sure if we are doing favors at all yet as well.
Its hard because it's one of those traditions that need to disappear because they can be an unnecessary expense.

I wanted to also do favors but realized how much more work and money it is, just for people not to take them.
