Are Wedding Favors a Must?

Hey Ladies. Are there any of you who are NOT giving out wedding favors? Are they an absolute must? Hey Ladies. Are there any of you who are NOT giving out wedding favors? Are they an absolute must? I don't want to seem cheap, but we are almost over budget and one part of my brain says "I am paying for food and desert and everything else, the experience should be enough". I have been to plenty weddings, grabbed favors and threw them away shortly thereafter. The other part of my brain says "Don't be ratchet, have the favors". Honestly, I feel like they are a waste of money. Am I wrong?

Def not a must. Totally dating myself, people use to take the table arrangements lol not sure if that’s still a thing 😂

Nope. I have the same thought process. We are providing good food, good booze and great music and the experience is better than a cheap memento. I’ve been told by other brides that most of their favors were left behind. We are doing cake pops instead of cake which will be on display as our cake, individually wrapped, so I’m calling that a double-whammy dessert/favor. Smiley smile

Certainly unnecessary. We used our Mason jars for seating, their glass for the night and as their take home favor. Most often guests don't take the favors any way, ends up being a huge waste of money

Wedding favors are not an absolute must. I went to a wedding this past summer and there were no favors. We are doing a candy table so we probably won't favors.

We’re not having favors. They are definitely not a must and unless they are really really special they usually get tossed or never used again. My brother and sil did stemless wine glasses filled with Hershey kisses in their colors, wrapped in tulle. Gorgeous and cute...but even my mom doesn’t use the glass and I don’t even know where mine is haha
Close friends of ours did homemade moonshine and that was pretty cool, but everyone drank it at the wedding anyways haha so I’d say skip it

Favors are definitely not a must. But if you feel like you absolutely need to, do something simple and fun. I just went to a wedding and they gave giant cookies as a favor in different flavors. They were delicious and did not go to waste.

Kids love favors. But other than that they usually get left behind.. I plan to make goodie bags for the kids but no favors.

I didn’t have favors as the ones I always get at weddings never end up finding useful so I skipped them all along. I had welcome bags for all guest when they arrived at our destination wedding that included a hangover kit that most people actually used, personalize mints, small tequila bottles, tajin and tabasco among maps, itinerary, ect. If it wasn’t for this I probably wouldn’t have had any favors.

    We aren't doing favors.
We are going to do a donation to an organization important to us in lieu.

Rachel, I agree. I really don't want to do invitations either. I was thinking of the Evites via email and maybe get a few printed for the older people who are old fashioned.

I’m strongly team no favors! Almost every married friend I’ve talked to has said they have a least a full box of favors that people didn’t take in their basement/closet/attic/wherever they store things.
