Are Wedding Favors a Must?

Hey Ladies. Are there any of you who are NOT giving out wedding favors? Are they an absolute must? Hey Ladies. Are there any of you who are NOT giving out wedding favors? Are they an absolute must? I don't want to seem cheap, but we are almost over budget and one part of my brain says "I am paying for food and desert and everything else, the experience should be enough". I have been to plenty weddings, grabbed favors and threw them away shortly thereafter. The other part of my brain says "Don't be ratchet, have the favors". Honestly, I feel like they are a waste of money. Am I wrong?

Future Mrs. A, thanks dear. I may do bubbles or something for the send off.

Definitely not a must. But I do suggest something edible if you choose to have them.

I literally never take the favors when I go to weddings. I don't want anything with the couple's name/date on it.

We're only having favors (mini bundt cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes) because my mother insisted on it and is paying for them.

Definitely not required, but I kind of wanted to do favors. We decided to recreate this idea (glass jars with sixlets chocolate inside). It'll cost us $40 for 60 guests.

Shaunte, thanks dear. Cute Idea. Bundt cakes are awesome. Can't ever go wrong with those.

B, oh ok thats cool too. I would prefer something edible, at least I know they will be eaten and not thrown away. Thanks so much.

Absolutely not. We actually met with our planer and the top 3 most wasted money items are custom invitations, favors and programs

Favors are definitely not necessary. We didn't do them and most weddings i've attended in the last 10 years did not have them either. If you have the extra budget and want to, that's totally fine - but don't stress about it!

Favors are totally optional! If you're more comfortable having favors, edible ones like cookies are a good option!

Nope, not necessary anymore. Only offer if you really want to, and choose something edible or it’ll be tossed.

We originally were not going to do favors because most people just throw them out. Then my fh wanted cake pops so we decided we will do these cute cake pop favors. They usually are only about a dollar or so a piece so it won’t be too expensive for these. Plus if anyone misses cake they can have some to take home.

Were not. I feel like a day of fun and being with family and free food and drink is enough. Plus cheesecake!

Our wedding favors will be there drinking glasses. So it won't be a waste for us.

I'm doing mugs with lids and straws. That way if people don't take them...oh well...more for our house. And it was something we were going to have to provide anyway. It's only coming out to a little over a dollar per person

My MOH wants to bake cupcakes or cookies to give as a wedding favor. If it were up to me, I wouldn't do anything. It’s just money that could be put towards the honeymoon.
