stunning architecture and space!
We had our wedding at The Portland Masonic in October and could not be more pleased! The architecture, space, and vibe is unforgettable. Our guests were awed and impressed! Working with the team was an absolute breeze, they were so responsive and helpful. The central location to downtown made arrival and departure a breeze! Thank you a million times! Highly recommend! Also, added bonus- they tables and chairs are included in the cost! -

Incredible Gatsby Experience
My husband and I got married here June 23, 2018 and it was more then we ever dreamed of. Angela, her staff and Blue Elephant went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we could have ever wanted or needed. The venue fit our Great Gatsby theme and the views from the roof are just breath taking. My favorite photos are from the roof top over looking the city. The Portland Masonic was the best wedding decision we made and the staff made my wedding dreams come true ❤️ -

Angela was great to work with through the whole process of planning our wedding. She was always available to give us the extra tours we wanted. We even got to see the venue before a few events to see how the space could potentially come out.
The Masonic Temple has some amazing décor and we did not have to do much by way of that at all. We let the building speak for itself, and even used a lot of the design work from the ceilings and walls within our stationary. It is a little pricey, but considering all that is included was worth it in the end. -
User6083981 Sent on 12/05/2012This place is absolutely amazing!! The decor is from the 1920s and has all the original woodwork from then as well. All the rooms are huge and can fit a lot of people. Everything was beautiful and will definitely take your breath away if your into the old history of building.
The problems we had with this place is that it no longer is the Main Grand Lodge for the Masons of Maine so there isn't someone in the building at all times. They are only open for a few hours at a time and you have to schedule an appointment to be able to go in.
We had planned to use two rooms upstairs to finish getting ready in and wait for our guests to arrive so that we weren't seen. Unfortunately the building is owned by more than one person and one of the staff members who was running the elevator would not allow us to get ready in the rooms. We had to find other places to be put in.
Not a big deal and we were able to work it out, but the conflict between the owners and the masons is kinda a pain. I wouldn't let that stop you from using this building though. It is gorgeous from top to bottom and I would love to go back sometime.
The other thing that I should mention is, they only allow one catering company to use the building so if you do plan on coming here, you can only use their catering company.
